Looking for advice on cushion diamond settings

Hi,

I'm in the process of purchasing a cushion shape diamond from JA and now I'm looking for a setting to go with it. I would prefer to also get the setting from JA if I can find something I like. A couple options I saw:

I'm a little concerned that the halo look would overshadow the center diamond. Another option is to go someplace else for the setting as JA doesn't have a lot to choose from so I'm open to suggestions.

I strongly prefer cushions in halos almost always. A delicate halo will not overpower the center stone. That is the key. If your budget allowed, the best halos are by custom ring makers such as Victor Canera and Steven Kirsch. Next would be Engagement Rings Direct for a little less. I like the simple halo ring you posted, but I wouldn't have great confidence in the quality as most custom delicate halo settings are going to be $3k up. What size is your diamond?

I wouldn't do the halo from JA. Too much metal between diamonds, hate the airline they typically leave when setting diamonds, not a fan of their peg prongs. I would look into halos at ERD if they are in your price range. Much better quality.

Thanks for the quick feedback. The settings from ERD do look nice, I'll take a look at their selection. Oh and the diamond is a 1.08c for reference.

I like cushions in and out of halos. But especially in a one carat size, I think Halos look lovely.

I prefer ERD for cushions halos, over JA.
