So I''ve been reading and looking at various diamonds online and continue to come back to Blue Nile for some reason, dont know if its just the ones I prefer or the ease of the site. I was wondering if some people with some more experience could chime in on the company itself (Blue Nile) and/or the below four diamonds.

While ''A'' is more around the price range that I was looking for I can definitely justify and save some more to purchase any of them right now. My plan is to purchase a loose stone and then get a setting together.

A) 0.85 Carat Princess Cut Diamond; Very Good-cut, E-color, and VS2-clarity

B) 1.00 Carat Princess Cut Diamond; Very Good-cut, D-color, and VS2-clarity

C) 1.00 Carat Princess Cut Diamond; Very Good-cut, E-color, and VS2-clarity

D) 1.02 Carat Blue Nile Signature Princess Cut Diamond; Signature Ideal-cut, E-color, and SI1-clarity

From what I''ve understand based on the short time that I have been researching color and cut are the most important aspects, this will be going into a platinum setting so yellow tints show up easier (so I''ve read). Clarity with princess cuts is where I''m not to sure how important it is, I''m looking for a diamond that will be clean to the eye as I''m sure it will be under 10x magnification very little (if ever after being inspected).

Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Stephen

only AGS grades the cut performance of a princess. Whatever grades assigned by BN to GIA stones is not necessary true.

To buy princess, I would prefer to go with a vendor that can provide ASET images and BN cannot.

It will be very very unlikely if you can tell the difference between a E and a G/H once the stones are mounted unless they are side by side.

Clarity, as long as it is eye-clean, and SI1 will look the same as an IF stone.

Hi Neo and welcome!

Ditto Stone''s advice. BN are an extremely reputable company however they won''t provide images that are in my opinion essential to evaluate fancy shapes such as Princess.

If you give us your budget and priorities then we could maybe find some diamonds that might be suitable?

My original budget was around 3-4000 but after surfing around I somehow kept finding diamonds in the 4-5000 range. Preferably I would like to try and remain in under or around 4000$.

The things that are important to me are:
Princess cut (or shape, which ever term is proper :) )
How it looks to the naked eye
A nice color and sparkle (I feel that a good colored diamond looks really nice with platinum)

Some same settings that I like for reference into what it may be set in are below, im more partial to the BN ones but not positive on exactly what she wants.
Setting 1
Setting 2
Setting 3
Setting 4

Thanks for the advice and help.

thanks a ton for the help; after looking at all the stones and reading pages of information i ended up going with the good old gold one

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6943/

some of the characteristics were ''lower'' then what i was initially looking at but with the amount of information available at that site for the diamond and the policies i felt that it was by far the best for my money. ill post some pictures once I get it

thanks again
