looking for a thin-band, six prong solitaire

Hi,

I have this setting from Ritani. It is beautiful and very dainty.

Hi, I am looking for a thin band, 6-prong solitaire. The thinnest I found was Ritani's at 1.62mm. I liked the width but did not care for the knife edge. This will be for a 1.34ct on a 3.5 sized finger. Thank you in advance!

FWIW, the knife edge will give an even thinner appearance to the band... the knife edge also helps add a little more strength due to the "upward thickness" (although you won't see it...) :)) I personally like the knife edge -- it reminds me of the classic Tiffany.

thanks for the replies! I am leaning towards ritani :sun:

Yikes, the head on that ring is WAY too high. I wouldn't recommend it unless you ask if they can put in a lower head. You don't want the diamond sticking up that high because it puts the diamond more at risk of getting hit on something and chipped or prongs bent or loosened. That is not a true knife edge ring anyway. It is basically a rounded shank with a little ridge.

Are you buying the diamond from Ritani?

I'll see if there are any others on that site.

Okay, I don't see the 4 prong version of this, but as if the other one can have a lower 4 prong head put in like this one. It is a much, much better height:

I had trouble finding a band as thin as I wanted. I ended up buying the perfect one at a random jewelry wholesaler. I absolutely love how dainty it is. I'd guess it's about 1.1 mm wide.

Not to rain on your parade but a band that thin could go out of round pretty quickly (like if she grasped a doorknob too hard). I'd be extra careful wearing it.

Congrats on finding the setting you wanted though!
