Looking for a swirl setting

I have been looking a week for this setting and not getting close.

I purchased this ring maybe 20 years ago.

I would like to find a better quality ruby around 1.25 oval or round

And have channel set diamonds in a wave or swirl on both sides from .15 to .7 ~ 2 rows on each side as seen in attachment.

I was also thinking about having maybe a half bezel to open the ruby up to light. I don''t know how that would figure in the design.

I wanted to not use a prong setting. I just don''t want it to look like a delicate engagement ring.

If we can''t find anything close I guess I will just have to go with something custom made.

Your "wants" sound pretty specific which means you would have to go custom. You might want to try posting over
in the Colored Stones forum. You may get more feedback. They know places to buy colored stones and vendors
to work with to have them set. Plus that have lots of pretty rings/pendants to look at over there
