Hi everyone:
Let me just preface my post by saying I'm new here, so please forgive me if I ask any stupid questions. I've read several posts, but I'm not finding the information I need.
I'm looking to buy a single rose cut diamond between .75-1.25 ct in weight. Preferred shape is oval, though a particularly interesting marquis will do just as well. I'm looking for good transparency with inclusions, maybe with some grey/black/green coloring involved.
Here's an example of a stone I fell in love with, which just happens to be in the possession of a jeweler whose professionalism is questionable:

I have found a different jeweler (who is fantastic) to make the ring. He sourced some diamonds for me, but he had nothing that spoke to me like this one does. He's still looking, but told me he'd be happy to work with a stone I'd sourced, as well, so I'm casting my net.
All that to say that I'm hoping to get in touch with a dealer local to NYC who might have something similar to what I've described, and who will sell me a single stone. I went to the diamond district today, and that was... an interesting experience. I get the sense that the people who will have the kind of stone I want probably aren't on the street level.
I've already emailed Michael at antiquediamond.com, but wonder if you guys might have any suggestions for someone I could contact.
Thanks so much for your time, for humoring me, and for any input you may have.
