As the subject states I am looking for reputable insurance agent that can issue a Chubb policy for an engagement ring in the DC metro area. Does anyone have someone they trust that can help me out?

Likewise, is Chubb the best way to go and what sort of costs am I looking at on a yearly basis to maintain a Chubb policy?

Hi MP-

My e-ring is insured with Chubb....I purchased the insurance through Flather and Perkins Insurance Co., which is located in the DC area.....I specifically used Georgia Moschonas there- she is awesome to work with, and can write Chubb policies for anywhere in the US (I'm in NJ). You will pay a bit more for Chubb, but its worth it, IMO, for piece of mind. Your premium will be based on the value of your ring and the area you live in. You'll probably be looking at $400-$500 p/y...that would be my round-about guess.

Here is the insurance company's contact info:

To contact Georgia, click on "contact us", scroll down to bottom of page and find her name under "personal". Her email addy is there.

Good luck!

Thanks Dani, Gary down at Engagement Rings Direct gave me a point of contact in New York, but after sending wire transfers and e-mailing back and forth during the ring design process I want to stay close to home in terms of the insurance agent. That way all that is needed is an appointment and a drive to get any questions or concerns addressed.

Looks like I may be getting the ring this week. The center stone was set in the setting yesterday.

No problem. Georgia is so sweet, and very quick in responding to emails...I had no reservations about working with her, even from NJ....I could not find anyone locally who would write a Chubb stand-alone policy...it was kind of a pain, but I got Georgia's name through PS, and I am very happy with her and her company so far.

How exciting that the ring is almost complete!!!! Its going to be gorgeous!!! Mark and ERD are just awesome, aren't they?? I have never dealt with Gary (I think he came on board after MH bought my ring close to 3 yrs ago) but he sounds great. We dealt with Mark and just love him- hope to see him again one day soon for my upgrade-LOL!!!!

Flather and Perkins!!!! Speak with Georgia. She is great. We filed a claim with her a year ago and chubb was great in processing the claim and issuing the check. We are still with them and insure all of our diamonds with them. Great lady!
