Looking for a new engagement ring

Would you go with the G or H? Both SI2 but excellent cut. Would you buy the pendant like you would buy stud earrings? Like would you look for the same qualities for a pendant as you would with studs? Because I heard with pendants and studs, the details are not that significant as if you were buying a ring?

I personally would. Earrings and pendants are very rarely looked at as close up as a ring, so clarity isn't as much of a concern. I agree with previous posters, go with the best cut.

You will only see a color difference if you are very color sensitive. I, for example, am totally diamond color blind so I would totally miss the difference. Even for people who are color sensitive the difference between the two grades will not be very noticeable. Personally I would go for a higher clarity, better cut and a lower color.

Thanks for this too. I couldn't tell a difference at all and I had to click the D and then the J to see if my computer was loading it!! I have an option of J-L but I think I will see a difference but between G and H, I didn't see anything change. Thanks so much for that link!!

Personally I would probably still get the H because I am not extremely color sensitive and it won't be very noticeable at that size, especially in pendents/earrings. If it were for a ring that would be looked at up closely, I might go for the G.

Well, my rings and earrings are G color, but my pendant is H, and honestly, there is not much difference. So I think the H is fine. However, since they are both excellent cut, my next qualification would be to buy the one that looked the cleanest in terms of clarity. Some SI's are cleaner than others.

Sinking...I gotta say...that is the worst color tool I have seen!

I apologize for the rude welcome, everyone has already provided an explanation. Still, it was no excuse. We(myself included) should have behaved better-we are adults after all. I hope this can eventually become a place you feel comfortable and happy posting and sharing.

I really love this tool too! Its more realistic! Would you go as far as going for a color I? I think after I, the diamonds look tinted to me...

I know, good intentions for sure! I was just excited to see the link thinking they had a wonderful, high tech look at color even more advanced than the GOG color article. So I just had a little laugh when I saw what it was!

My problem with going to see color is that typical jewelry store lighting is just awful for seeing color differences. It is great if they will take you outside in natural light to see the color, though.
