Hello there,

First time poster!

Here's my question: My fiance has saved and saved and we finally have no more than $4k to spend on an asscher cut diamond, which seems to be enough to purchase something between 0.92-1 carat and remain in the D-H, VS2-VVS1 category (going from memory).

Does anybody have any suggestions as to very reliable and helpful places online to purchase this stone? So far I have tried to go through James Allen, however the sales reps keep making mistakes with what I've specified on my emails - and each time I email a different person responds - which is making me nervous.

Here is one diamond I am currently looking at, that seems like it has good specs. The GIA cert is here: http://www.gia.edu/cs/Satellite?pagename=GST%2FDispatcher&childpagename=GIA%2FPage%2FReportCheck&c=Page&cid=1355954554547&reportno=2156181997

And I'll try and inser an image too, down below.

Thank you in advance. I am going to keep looking online - would there be anyone on this site who could help me decide on the stones I post here, in case I miss something?

Rachel :)

Hi! I'm not an Asscher authority ( I own a Sapphire Asscher) but I do love looking at them! What about trying the following: Brian Gavin or Good Old Gold?

You can't buy a fancy by numbers alone - they need to be evaluated individually, as some stunning stones often fall outside specific parameters.

JA is fun to look at things on - I bought my EC from them, and am very happy. That said, if I had it to do over again, I'd call Good Old Gold. They are experts at finding good performers, will work up the candidates fully (idealscope, ASET, comparison videos), and will advise as to which stone they recommend and why. I'd give them a call, as their customer service is very good, and it sounds like you're unhappy w JA at this point.
