welcome to ps.
if you wouldn''t mind turning off the caps lock so it doesn''t seem like you''re yelling, we would appreciate it.

you can do a search for what you are looking for using the ''pricescope your diamond'' search tool above. there aren''t many 3ct stones available, so you may want to expand your search to look for stones just under and over that mark as well.
best of luck!

Please, no offense meant, But are you for real????????????????????????

If you use the Pricescope your diamond feature above there isn''t a single stone in the three carat range ANYWHERE near your desired price range. If you could find something in the 3 carat range for such a rediculously low price, it would have to be so poorly cut that you''d likely be looking at frozen spit.

Again, no offense meant, but you should seriously reset your expectations.

Jennifer - You can get around 2.25 by going to an SI1 clarity and staying with the J color, but 3 cts for that price... no....

If you want a well-cut stone, your budget won''t get what you''re asking for.

If you stay with well-cut, you can swing approximately 2.00 to 2.25 ct.....around I/SI2 or J/SI1 stone.

THANKS MRSSALVO!

I CHECKED OUT THAT SITE YOU POSTED AND FOUND A GOOD CUT 2.60 J VS2 FOR A LITTLE OVER $13000 NOW I JUST NEED ONE .40 BIGGER AND IM A HAPPY GIRL!
THANKS FOR ACTUALLY LOOKING!!

AND FOR ANY ONE ELSE IF YOU CANT ANSWER MY POST NO NEED TO SPEND YOUR TIME TELLING ME NOTHING,OR ASKING ME IF IM SERIOUS.

XOXO

If you find a nice, well cut 3 ct for 15.5K please do let us know!!!

how nice.

PLEASE STOP SHOUTING AT US! THANK YOU!

If you want a 3 ct for that price it''s either going to be badly cut, or clarity enhanced. You have been given very good options in your price range that are a little under the size you crave. It might be wise to either consider those and get one with a vendor that has a good upgrade policy, or wait and save some more money and buy the 3 ct.

Since I asked if you were serious, I suppose I deserve that, and I do apologize, as I meant no offense. But, since Belle kindly suggested you turn off your caps and others have nicely (actually with more kindness than myself) offered that what you are looking for likely does not exist, YOUR ATTITUDE will likely make anyone else think twice about offering any additional assistance to you.

When I searched on the search engine available here on this site, I found two stones that met your criteria:

stone 1

stone 2 ($15494 with PS discount)

Remember, you get what you pay for . . .

Even if you are serious, I'm still going to point out that people have been trying to help you but your reaction has been nothing short of unacceptable.

And a "good cut" is actually one of the lowest cut grades. There's still VG and EX (GIA). Besides, pricing is exponential as you move up in ct size. Given that you "found" a 2.6ct for $13000, that comes out to $5k/ct. The problem is, the minute you move to the 3ct range, it won't be $5k/ct... Thus, In order to find a 3ct for $15.5k, you'll most likely have to move to K or L color and SI range in clarity. My take is a L, SI2/3 will get what you want (this is for a VG/VG polish/symmetry or higher, with a close to VG cut)

Oh, and for the link provided above to a 3.05ct, you'll find that since its an EGL, chances are the K is probably closer to an L, and the VS1 is probably closer to VS2 or even worse.

I did a search using your parameters with USACerted. It''s not quite a J but K is pretty close. It says it''s certed by "GIANY"...I assume GIA New York? Never really heard of GIANY but oh well.

That last BN recommendation is interesting. Ok, it''s a 60/60 stone and has a miserable HCA, but it gets a 0 on light performance even with a 3 on proportions? So, what would that mean? Would this still be a good looking diamond? Any opinions?

it just barely got 3 on proportions, with 5.0% girdle instead of 4.9% for slightly thick.

I don''t think HCA is useful in second guessing the AGS 0 light performance grade.

From the tutorial: "Proportions are now only to guide to manufacturers and not the basis of grading. Stones must not breach certain ''bad proportions''...."

Welcome Jennifer

I agree unfortunately you are not going to be able to find a 3 ct for your budget. Now, in a lower colour it might be possible, but not an icy white diamond of D or E colour for example....Maybe looking at diamonds with an EGL cert might be closer to your budget. Also a VS clarity won''t be doable for this size and price. You have to bear in mind that not only is there a real shortage of 3 ct diamonds and many buyers for the few there is, people will pay big money for them, easily upwards of $30k and much more than that. I think in all honesty you will have to keep saving or adjust your expectations, disappointing I know

Seems like you might have to either increase your budget or scale back on size if you want a stone worth having!

Most likely you will have to look on the secondary market.

You are going to get one ugly cloudy yellow dull diamond for 15k for a 3 carat.

If you lower/modify your requirement somewhat, you might be able to get a 3.0 ct.

1) Shape: A fancy shape such as pear, oval or ... will cost less than a round.
2) Color: Not J but might be lower with yellowish tint. Very light yellowish diamonds, contrary to some belief, can be very delicate and sparkling, that is, if you like the color. They are certainly not ugly.
3) Clarity: Hard to find vs in the price range even for cape diamonds but SI will do. SI diamonds, depending on the location of flaws, can be nice.

I got a 3.12 pear shape, SI1 very light yellow diamond from a consignment of a local jewelry retailer last year for $8500. I used a 18 ct basket with diamond halo setting to accentuate the yellow color. It did not come with a cert though but for the price, what the hack.

Do yourself a favor. Stay away from ebay. They carry junks, junks and more junks.

so turning on the caps lock makes it easier to type?

HMMMM....

ACTUALLY, IT FEELS THE SAME AS WITH THEM OFF EXCEPT THAT NOW IT SEEMS LIKE I AM BEING REALLY RUDE AND YELLING AT EVERYONE THAT IS TRYING TO BE NICE AND HELP ME.

other shapes are less expensive per carat weight because more rough can be saved. round diamonds are going to be more expensive, so you can't just compare shapes across the board. there are many factors that effect price and it is difficult to make direct comparisons between the same shapes, much less completely different ones.

again, just use the search tool above. there is no secret wholesale society.
