I'm really comfortable with the numbers on this diamond (including the price), except I wish it was closer to 1.07ct as that's what I've been looking at in person. The strong blue flour is something I really like as well. I've seen a J with med-blue flour and it looked stunning. Should I jump on this or keep looking???

Ideally, I'd find the same rock at 1.5ct for slightly more $, but so far I haven't.

The numbers on this stone look great. However, if you want to go bigger, drop down in clarity considerably to the SI1-SI2 range and if you''ve seen a J and like it you could drop down to this in color as well.

The J that I really liked looked closer to an H due to the flour.

Only in sunlight does this matter. Did you view the stone in sunlight?

If you want flour though, you can probably find a J stone with it.

The first diamond you posted looks promising. Make sure that the strong blue fluorescence doesn''t have a negative effect on the diamond such as milky/cloudiness in sunlight, but this is rare.

It was viewed under an Ott Light, which resembles Natural Light. Would I have seen the flour there?

Usually fluorescence is seen in sunlight or other UV light. You can then observe it as a type of violety/ bluish glow depending on the strength of it, also assuming the fluorescence is blue.

That''s what I thought on flour. I''d prefer not to shop at WF though, as taxes would be due for me up front (as I''m in TX).

Any recommendations at other shops would be very much appreciated!

Jamesallen.com and googoldgold.com are also fabulous and they are not located in TX.

My .02:

A well-cut ''I'' will be beautiful, *and* if you''re comfortable with SIs, you can bump the spread a bit for the same $$. Just make sure the SI is "eye-clean" to your specifications.

Good luck!

After sleeping on it, I just didn't feel comfortable buying under 1ct since everything I've looked at has been 1.05 or above. After searching all day, I think I found a very nice stone:

1.08 ct
AGS Ideal 0 H&A

SI1
Depth 62%
Table 55.5%
Crown 34.8
Pav 40.7
Strong Blue Flour
6.55 - 6.61 x 4.08mm

Having it checked currently to make sure it's eye clean and that the flour isn't cloudy. The plot is a little messy, although the inclusions are close to the edges for the most part. Look good to everyone else?

This stone looks great so far! Do you have any images or ideal scope images of the stone to make sure? Also, the flour is probably fine, but you might as well check with the vendor to make sure.

If this is from a pricescope vendor, be sure to ask about the pricescope discount before purchasing. It''s not large, but it will help out.

It''s from Blue Nile, so no other tools are available online. HCA is coming up as a 1.2 on it though! Do they offer a pricescope discount?

I''m thinking if all comes back well I''ll jump on it. If it doesn''t stack up in person I''ll return it.

Is this light performance graded? If so, you can probably forgo the IS image. As long as the clarity and flo check out, it looks good!
