Hey ladies & gentlemen

First time posting here but been using price scope as a research tool as I try to find the right engagement ring. I have narrowed it down to these 3 options in terms of the diamond. I am currently in a process of getting these 3 diamonds the ASTA images from James Allen.
what do you think about these options

option 1:

would the girdle of thin-thick in this diamond be a problem?

option 2:

option 3:

i am leaning towards option 2 & 1, but any help and opinions are very much welcome and appreciated.
thank you!

Did the wearer specifically request a princess? Or did they just want a square stone? Please tell us what the wearer has requested or hinted at. Also do they have a pinterest board and can you link us?

@gypsy She has always loved princess cut, she told me quite a few times that thats the diamond she always wanted. Also she does not have pinterest unfortunately.

@telephone89 what do you not like about the option 2? could you elaborate, also those options are real nice as well, although I would rather not get a ring with a feather inclusion.

What draws you to the ones you like? I personally do not like #2.

You might want to look at some AGS0 princess cuts for comparison as well.

The feather is not the grade setting inclusion on either stone. And they are Vs2 so unless they are located at the points you are perfectly safe. In particular that G will be a lovely stone with no risk from the inclusions.. And that's the one I recommend you get.

My apologies, I guess i should have mentioned my price range. it is $2300 usd max.
which would put the G color diamond out of my price range.

The I colour does show some colour in the corners - this is personal if you like it/notice it/care. But it's still an AGS0, which will still have ideal light return.

If the extra few dollars are important, I think this is a good choice. The H is a tad more, and would have less of a tint. That is up to you which you prefer!

I requested some ASET images on that I color, hopefully it works out.

also found this as well.

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut/0.70-carat-h-color-vs2-clarity-sku-721768 what do you think?

although they do not have this in hand, a rep said that this diamond is in a different location. they mentioned that they cannot get an ASET images for these, i am also strongly considering this. Is this worth the risk and since i cant get any images on this diamond.
is the report and the dimensions enough to consider buying this without the ASET images?

I am in the very final stages here. hoping to get this ring on early feb. so i can present it soon after.

If comparing only the last 2, I like the I better. It's much larger spread (look at the mm dimensions) really do it for me. Plus, the H has a black inclusion right on the table. It says vs2, but that would bother me.

I would still have your consideration on the AGS H as well.

would an AGS I color be really much of a yellow tint, while its seated on a 18k white gold?
or would it look out of place?

in terms of the H color the only thing i am worried about that its not readily available for them to inspect it not sure if i should be worried about that or not.

You may notice the tint in the corners of the diamond. I wouldn't think you'd notice too much in the general body being that the sparkle will hide a bit of the tint. Are you in the US? JA has a great return policy so you can look at it in hand before committing.

eta - with the H, again, the return policy is excellent. I personally would be feel comfortable with purchasing an AGS0 stone w/o the aset. You can even purchase your own aset and use it on the stone when you receive it.

Take a look for some I coloured In white metals. Princess cuts have kind of fallen off in popularity so this thread hasn't been updated in a while, but still a lot of photos for you to browse.

sorry @ telephone89
i think we might be on the different page. the one i was talking about without aset image is
http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut/0.70-carat-h-color-vs2-clarity-sku-721768.... which is GIA certified.

and what do you mean by purchasing my own ASET?
Got it. I perhaps wasn't very clear - this one has a black inclusion on the table, and it faces up quite small. I would skip.

I had rec'd you 2 AGS stones earlier - so far I haven't seen any others listed in your budget that will out perform these.

The aset is a tool - called an aset scope. You can purchase one and take these same sort of photos yourself.

@telephone89
thank you for all of your help and everybody else! I will go ahead and purchase this I color (it seems like this was one of the ones that you recommended me earlier in the thread) as soon as they get back to me with the ASET and inspection. will update if anything changes!

hey!

just received this aset image, could anybody if possible interpret/ let me know what you think of this image? unfortunately i a bit color blind and can't exactly tell. any help would be great!

Very good stone. The red is concentrated in the middle. And the green is concentrated at the edges. That means the stone will be brighter in the center than at the edges and may look a little smaller than other stones with more red at the edges.

If you are setting it in a halo or bezel, it will be fine. If you are setting it as a solitiare, I'd want more red at the edges personally. But I would give the stone a solid B+
