It''s beautiful!! Can''t wait to see your photos!!
Now, about this vintage 5-stone - do you have a thread for it already? Any photos? I''ll even take a seller photo at this point!! I''ve been wanting to get one for a while myself, and look at them on eBay all the time, but never take the plunge. I''d love to see what you got!
LV-I posted a thread a while ago on the five stone...I got it from Dover. I''ll post my own pics this weekend, but here''s the link for now.
Their pics do not do it justice at all! The diamonds are incredible! Super white, amazingly sparkly, and shoot off rainbows in every type of light. Theyn are G-VS brilliant cuts from the 1930s. The filigree work in the setting is actually very delicate. I was thinking about re setting it into my dream swoopy trellis like the sasha primak (actually I''d porbably get the BGD like neatfreaks) but it''s so perfect as is, I can''t imagine changing the setting now. it''s a 1/4-1/2 size too big, but I''m wearing it everyday b/c I can''t stop looking at it
I love it!!! I like the way the filigree is integrated into the ring. Often that part of the ring, not sure what you would call it, is raised up a bit. I like the way yours is integrated into the shank.
I missed the earlier thread. I don''t pop in here too often, but have been spending more time here lately admiring all the beauties! I will look forward to all of your pics, Bella!! Lucky, lucky girl!
LV-I love how the filigree is integrated too! The ones where it starts higher seem so bulky.
I lost an auction the week before that had graduated OECs in a five stone, the OECs were super white and have small open culets
but the setting was hideous. I figured I''d sell the plat for scrap. I ddin''t bid in time so I lost and was really bummed, but the next day this came up for auction it was more, but since I don''t have to change out the setting it was a really, really great deal.
Bella, did you choose to set it in 14K or 18K? Just curious because I'm debating whether it's worth the cost to reset my solitaire diamond necklace (currently in an 18K six-prong setting) into an 18K bezel... or just go with 14K. Beautiful necklace, can't wait to see modeling pics! Will go so well with your new earrings.
the size is great, it''s white white white, not too big, not too small--perfect for everyday wear but totally noticeable and it doesn''t get lost on my super curvy 5''8 self.
it does seem to flip quite a lot, but the bottom is almost as sparkly as the top so that''s not a huge deal. The only time it bothers me is when it flips halfway b/c then the diamond is 90 degrees to my neck and all you see is the edge of the bezel unless you are taller than me.
but it''s really gorgeous!!!!!!!!! There will be no fedex strip tease this weekend b/c I ripped open the outer box, and the inner box, and the padded envelope, and the white wrapped jewelry box, and the cherry jewelry box to see it right there in the fedex store But, I promise, this weekend there will be pics!
Gleam, I had mine done in an 18k bezel, but the chain is 14k b/c I wanted so many lengths and the price would have gone up some if I had the chain and extender done in 18k and I was really at the edge of my budget. 18k is standard for BGD.
