Where are the longhorns? Anyone going to the game? What a great season! Colt is my hero. Mack Brown is my hero. I LOVE being a longhorn!!

Hook ''em horns!!

Count me in !!

I was so worried about the game T''giving night. We watched, and screamed and yelled!

Pony Up Colt !!

Oh my goodness!! I know. I was in a room by myself yelling and just freaking nervous!! That was too close. We can''t afford to play that poorly on the defense on Saturday, and on Jan 1st!

Who do you prefer for us to play in the championship? Personally, I''d like to play Florida. I HATE Tebow!

I''m a grad student at UT. LOVE the Longhorns.
5.gif
Did my undergrad at Penn State so I am also a die-hard PSU football fan. PSU is pretty bad this year so I am putting in all my energy into Longhorns football. I would love to see UT play Florida too! I hate Tebow as well! Just went to the Kansas game a few weeks ago (it was Senior Day) and it was fantastic! I hope Colt wins the Heisman!!

\m/ Right here!! \m/ I went there for undergrad and miss Austin more than anything!! I don''t think I''m going to the game this weekend.. I have my grad school finals on Saturday and Sunday.. boo. One of my friends has offered up tickets though.. so we''ll see what happens! I agree about the A&M game..I was in a room by myself as well and I half expected my neighbors to come see what I was yelling about! That was so nerve-wracking. I wasn''t happy until the end when Colt was just running the clock.. Can''t wait to at least watch the game on tv this weekend though. Hook ''em!!

How great would it be for Colt to win the Heisman, a conference championship, and the national championship! It would be THE perfect season!!
9.gif
Hopefully nothing stupid with the BCS prevents that.

I''m trying to get tickets. If not, I''ll at least be in Austin to watch. That''s just as good a place to be! I LOVE Austin. I really wish I lived there. My years at undergrad were not enough.

I think the Heisman should be Colt''s but ya know, not my decision !!

I guess they could give it to Tebow - again. Seems there should be
some kind of rule that you only get one - ha ha!!

I''ll be in Austin later this week - helping my daughter move and then
back home in time to watch the game Hook ''em

Glad the Longhorns are having a better season than the Mean Green. My bf goes to UNT (University of North Texas) and is a HUGE fan no matter how bad they suck.

This season ended 2-10... And the worst part is they were really playing better and probably should have won about 5 more games but each time would make some REALLY stupid mistake (or more than one mistake) and lose on a penalty or interception or something. It was rough. SO is so loyal.

In the last game the first string quarterback broke his arm, the second string qb separated his shoulder, for some reason the 3rd string guy wasn''t brought to the game... so they put in the redshirt freshman with 2 minutes left in the SEASON thus burning his redshirt... we''ll probably find out if the coach is getting fired (even with 2 years left on his contract) sometime this week.

We need to start rooting for a different team...

I LOVE football more than LIFE!!! Seriously. So much that I arrange my schedule around football games. Don''t bother asking me to do pretty much anything between late August through January. Unless it is to ask me to go to some games.

I love going to sports bars and watching 5 games at once. I record games and watch the good ones over and over again.

I think Texas will win the National Championship this year - I thought so as early as February. I love that Colt returned to school this season. I think they''ll play Alabama for the title - Nick Saban ain''t no joke.

I''m very surprised how many undefeated teams we still have this late in the season. Sucks for Cincinnati because they are legit and would give any of the top 3 a run for their money.

As far as the Heisman goes - it is a meaningless popularity contest and they hardly ever get it right. It shouldn''t be given until the season is complete. Last year it should have gone to Tebow instead of that sissy Sam Bradford. The year Tebow won it, it should have gone to Pat White. This year, I would give it to Mark Ingram - though the possibility of either Tebow or McCoy would not cause me to argue.

Sorry... I just have to be the obnoxious Sooner and yell a big, proud

BOOMER!!!

Haha, on that note, I''m glad when anyone from the big 12 can go to the national title game. Since it definitely wasn''t our year, I''ll be rooting for the longhorns, even though it hurts me to say it.

Yeah, thanks! I''m sure it''s going to be a hell of a game! We kinda sorta did the same last year...but we were still pretty peeved at the technicality of the BCS BS.

Sweet!!! I can''t say that I''ve always been a fan. I didn''t grow up here, and only started watching when I went to UT. Before then, football meant soccer, and American football was weird. NOW....I LOVE to play (flag) and I LOVE to watch.

I tend to watch big 12 games and the bigger NCAA games. My FI on the other hand...you and he would get along! I could watch it all day, but I definitely don''t "study" it the way he does. I love him for it though. He tells me what I need to know about it. :)

librarychickie, my son goes to Tech - graduating in 3 weeks, then grad school. We support Tech when they don''t play UT

I have UT and Tech emblems on the back on my SUV - I had a business in College Station while my daughter was at UT and my son at Tech.
You think I didn''t catch all kinds of h*ll while I was in town, ha ha!!

Oh wow, that is brave.

I actually went to the Tech @A&M game last year, and got tickets on the field. I wore a UT shirt!! *gasp* I did get the looks, but...I was representing!

What can I say??? I almost had a heart attack right there!!! I ended up getting to go to the game at the last minute.. I''m not posting so that this can become a "what went wrong" thread.. It''s just a HOOK ''EM HORNS kind of night!!!!!!!! \m/ \m/

That was some intense football. Yeah defense, boo offense. Colt can make it up to us on January 7th.

I''m a Longhorn fan by birth, although I didn''t attend myself. I''m just so darned happy for my mother!

Also, my bff is a born and raised Alabama fan, so there should be plenty of hazing in the next month!

I gotta say, Texas squeaked by for the second week in a row. And McCoy lost the Heisman tonight. Maybe they''ll get it together by January - but if they were to play Alabama tomorrow, no doubt about it The Tide would Roll!

We need a playoff system. I honestly believe either Cincy or TCU deserve to play the game over Texas.

Mark Ingram gets the Heisman.

I don''t know if UT was just off during the Nebraska game or what. But the LOnghorns certainly didn''t look like the number 3 team in the country.
Nebraska is a great team and played so well.

I honestly think Colt has lost the Heisman - if he ever was in the running seriously.
And I think Bama will wipe us (UT) all over the field - it won''t be pretty come January.

A&M will continue to have a stronger team every year - they are young and will grow.
UT now has to grow too with a new young QB and other key players.
Next year will be hard for us UT fans.

I hate to say it, we played like poo!
38.gif
We played EVERY SECOND of that game, and the offense just played like poo. I have no idea who that QB was!

I nearly had a heart attack, and was having a nervous breakdown. I couldn''t even watch, but managed to open my eyes for the last drive. That was just lucky!

HOLY MOLY!! My poor little heart. A win is a win though We''ll take it. I''m so proud of my boys. Too bad for Colt though.

I hope that we don''t do what we''ve done the past two games, and push me over the edge. The game is on my birthday, and I can''t have that kind of anxiety for my birthday. I''m already pretty sad about going on the downward slope toward 30. *sigh*

Tebow crying on National TV over a football game...I would be ASHAMED if I were a Gator fan. That guy needs some perspective...Oh, and rest assured he will NOT win the Heisman.

FSU - what do you think of the Gator Bowl matchup?

I am nearly certain that we will lose. WVU only lost 3 games this season to pretty strong competitors (Auburn, South Florida and Cincinnati). Our program is going through transition (i.e. coaching changes ahead) and as happy as I am to see Bobby out at the Gator Bowl, it really is not a wise match up for FSU.

As an FSU alum who attended college when we won our second national championship this was an incredibly tough year to be a Seminole. However, I am very optimistic about our future and look forward to building a new dynasty.

Go ''Noles!!!!

Yes, quite an unlucky matchup for FSU - though the Gator was going for drama and $$$. I love that Bobby gets the Gator for his last game. Bowden is a former head coach at WVU and you have a few West Virginians on your coaching staff (Jimbo Fisher, Rick Trickett). Mountaineer fans travel like dead heads and the game was sold out by the end of Sunday night.

WV's offense struggles at times, but have really come together on D. Also, the loss to Cincinnati is a controversial one - a Cincy player fumbled the ball at the goal line and was recovered by WV (and was called on the field). It was reviewed and was then called a TD for Cincy. That would have given WV the win and the BCS game. Heartbreaking, but the Gator is the next best thing.

I think it will be a good game. The FSU / Miami game at the beginning of the season was one of my favorites this year. I'm sure FSU will be playing with lots of emotion and that can always give you an edge. West Virginia is still in transition and next year looks very promising. I'm excited for the game though - oh, and as a life long Mountaineer fan . . . LET'S GO . . . MOUNTAINEERS!!!
