I actually just got a quote from him today. Very tip top of my budget, but it might be doable. I'll be sure to update when I know more, or have photos!

I am sorry but the more I see of that ring ... the more I don't like it. The only thing it has going is the actual halo. The gallery is blah ... the shank is nasty to me.

I haven't really decided, I'm just still torn and decided I needed to do some comparison shopping. I think the color is bothering me a bit and I'm worried about leakage. I've gotten to the point where I'm realizing that if I still haven't made up my mind, it's probably not a good sign that this is the one.

Kozibe effect is the reflection of the culet in the other facets of the stone and can be an indication of an excellent cut and produces fire:

Alright, so another one came up - 2.19cts I VS2 8.09 x 7.05. I haven't seen it in person yet... you think I'll be disappointed by the MUCH smaller face up size?

Depends. If it performs better than no i dont. And also its a good way to tell how you really feel about antique cushions. If you dont like either, maybe you need a different stone. Antique emerald cut or something.

I wouldn't give up on an antique cushion/OMB. the 2.19 that is 7x 8mm is a really nice size for a 2c cushion. I had a 2.1c radiant brilliant that was 6.6x 8.9 and it was very impressive. The lady that was making my custom setting, her father who was in the biz for more than 30 years asked if it was a 3c. stone...HA HA! I got many compliments from strangers and friends. I set it E/W. The wider the elongated stone the larger it will look. Besides you are going to halo it which makes it even more impressive. Mine wasn't haloed.

Just keep looking. The 2.19 might be it.

I love that 2.18 J OWD stone. If the price is in your range, I would order it so you could see it in person. Return it if you don't love it. It has a lovely shape, love the crown and it faces up VERY white for a J in that video.

I love this design! I just bought a 1.27 avc and was thinking of flanking it with a halo like this...like the tacori bloom halo...and was thinking of getting tiny Avc's on the side like this ring you posted! It's gorgeous!
