Long hair over 50?

I just turned 53 less than a month ago and this the longest my hair’s ever been. Haven’t been to the salon since last year and I’ve been doing my own roots for a year. It suits my lifestyle - ponytails for bike rides and paddle boarding, messy bun when I sleep and work at home. This was after a bike ride.

The other photo is what I’d like to do when I’m more than 70% grey. As of my last salon visit in early 2020, my stylist said I’m only 10% grey, so I wait.5A8B29DA-D63A-4110-A6EE-B16B5438D854.jpeg

I love your hair, you look so young & beautiful!!!!

Natural hair color.
Here's a picture from when covid restrictions were in force and then a picture of post-vax cut with layers refreshed:

ETA: Yikes, big pictures! Sorry about that. First time posting from phone. Don't know how to fix size.

I decided in November of 2021 to let my gray come in. I cut my hair in a short pixie. I’m loving the salt and pepper look and can’t wait for my hair to be past my shoulders again.

On a side note: You ladies are so nice and encouraging to each other.

God your hair is stunning!
What was your natural color before it turned gray?

I'm curious to know, as I wonder what mine will eventually come in as!

Thank you! A Brazilian blowout is the way to go. Here's another:

I have never heard of a Brazilian blow out before, what does it entail?

It's basically a keratin treatment. I have thick coarse hair. Chemicals are added and the hair straightens out. Some people get it regularly, I prefer to go once a year, maybe two.

Thank you for the hair compliments!

My hair used to be all dark brown like my eyebrows in the first picture.

I totally caved and got it cut yesterday. It’s Mississippi and about to be summer and IT wasn’t cooperating AT ALL. Give it two months....it’ll be long enough again.
Update: that cut was from March and my husband had a “comment” to make about it being “short.” I was in my “well, I’ll fix YOU” mode so I didn’t get it cut. No haircut since March. And to top it allll off, my skinny stylist fell about two months ago while wearing wedges taking her garbage to the street and broke her femur…so when I got ready for a trim she was out of commission….and still may be! I can now put it in a ponytail, which I do as soon as i get home and some days I wear one to work. I’m actually getting used to it but I kinda think the universe taught me a lesson instead of me teaching my dear husband a lesson…..so it’s long again, for now.
