I saw this ad on a Facebook page for jewelers that is by admission only.

I had to laugh when I saw this and thought that many of you would enjoy the absolute honesty of this ad. Under NO circumstances will I help anyone acquire this, so I believe I am within Forum rules. Accurately described as a piece of (expletive deleted).

ROLF. At least they are honest. :lol-2::lol-2::lol-2:

:D:cheeky: I love honesty!

The depressing / amusing thing is that I have seen much worse for sale for much more over here in UK jewellers' windows!!

That was great! Thanks for sharing and making this forum fun!

Rotf! Looks like a few diamonds I have seen before!

Did they say with salt & pepper?

LMAO Well, some vendors have been making rings with these types of stones. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as the saying goes. I'm stretching my mind but I'm old & I don't stretch like I used to. :P2

Idealscope or ASET image? Or would it be considered a fancy color, where you can get away with non standard cut parameters? :geek2:

I know some jewelers on insta who would be all over that

And on display here....some shiny speckled carbon! Why do I hear that what's this song again....

@yssie could probably do an amazing job listing it!

@metall :bigsmile:

Even my Very Ugly Diamond from a couple years ago was more attractive than this fellow - seems like PO[X] is probably about as good as honesty gets here

I learned many, many years ago that there is much more margin percentage in poorly cut, I1 diamonds than in a D-IF. I also learned that even though the money for them was quick and the margins high, that I could not enjoy selling them to my clients, even with full disclosure as to why they were so cheap.

On a trip to Antwerp, I had bought a fifteen carat parcel with ten or twelve diamonds in it at a tremendous price. I sold about half of them to my clients and the rest to members of the trade, all at the same price per carat. The parcel was gone within a week of my arrival back in Boise.

When I went back to Antwerp, I no longer even looked at the parcels with those diamonds in them. I went back to selling only diamonds I would be proud to give to my wife. Within a short time later Paul Slegers contacted me prior to his first trip to the USA and my life was forever changed.

HAHA! That they definitely were! The funny thing is, I'm sure I've seen stones like it at outlet zales selling for some stupid amount of money!

I have seen a few of their $1999 1ct weekly specials, and yes it does come with salt & peppers.

Sir...Sir...Sir... I think you're confusing shattered diamonds with salt and pepper ones...I'm pretty sure some of those "specials" were stones they messed up during setting and were just thrown into a specials category!

I like this seller. :D

I do too. My wife and I drove to Pasadena for the World Cup Finals in 1984. We met with this seller who had acquired the tickets for us.

We are already making plans to attend some of the games in eight years when the USA, Canada and Mexico host the World Cut in 2026.

@Wink, if you're going to be in town, might as well bring a handful of CBI diamonds with you so that a bunch of us can get together and ogle over the stones...

Remind me in about seven and 3/4 years. But you do not need to wait that long. We already have a CBI retailer in the LA area.

I'm nowhere near LA. Even one PS recommended appraiser is 4 hours away... :cry2::cry2::cry2:

If I share this with my husband (who is also counting down the days), my next upgrade will be a 2.5 ct CBI ;-)

There is not a CBI dealer near me either, but when the right stones pop up, I plan to send them to a dealer and see what all this talk about the secret sauce is all about.

No such thing as secret sauce when it comes to diamonds, however I love checking out as many beautiful cut diamonds as possible in person. I was satisfied after visiting several H&A stores full of precision cut diamonds a long ago while living in various big cities. Now I'm in Eastern TN and don't have as good of access to satisfy my curiosities including fresh seafood...:blackeye:
