Let me first say that this is my first day as a member of PS and I''ve been a lurker for a few months now. I''ve enjoyed everyone''s pictures as I''ve been trying to figure out what e-ring I''m going to want (no proposal but I don''t need one to just look right?). Anywho, I''ve been a fan of LOGR and his semi mounts so I figure, rings from China = BARGAIN!!! On that note I have been doing some research trying to find any more China based stores selling semi mounts at good prices and this is what I found!!!!

http://search.dhgate.com/search.do?dkp=1&searchkey=semi+mount&catalog=

How can it be? Is it a scam? I thought it might be wholesale prices where you have to buy quantity but even if that is the case, it would still be too good to be true. So check it out and tell me what you think.

Thanks again (:

FYI Totally excited about registering with this forum.

Hi and welcome - there are many threads about LOGR on here. You can do a search, or just peruse the pages of the coloured stones section, where most of the buyers of his stuff post.
Many have purchased with mixed results.
No, its not a scam - but, well you get what you pay for.
I would suggest reading through the threads before buying.

I have searched the threads on numerous occasions, I''ve heard the good, the bad, the extremely good and not so bad. Small diamonds, should upgrade, stones falling out of the pave, crappy prongs, thin shank and etc. A LOGR semi mount would only be for RHR and such so I wouldn''t expect perfection. Thank you for the warm welcoming, if it''s not a scam why buy from ebay at $200 + when you could get the same for $25? That''s my concern.

Well, if you have the threads you are in a position as good as any to answer that question.
You may have come across my experience - I ordered the legacy style, wasn''t happy with the diamonds and workmanship (even though very cheap), and sent it back for a quickly administered refund.
No scam, just buyer beware.

Oh, and its not likely you will get any of the settings for $25 these days, as he became aware of his popularity here and upped all the prices. They only represent moderate value, not real *bargains* now imho.

Since the shipping costs to the US are $50-$140, it doesn''t seem that much cheaper in the end. I suppose it could be worth it if you wanted several pieces.

I remember your story but didn''t recognize your pic

. That is a reason why I am not too concerned seeing as how you can return and get money back. I just wanted to know why this legitimate website shows Lord of Gems under a different name but selling his products. If you go the page I originally pasted it shows them for that CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY price lol. So ya , I was wondering if it was real and if anyone at all has ever bought one from here. I figure with the economy and effects it is having it could be possible. Cross my fingers and thank you for taking time out to help :)

AWWWW shipping cost, point well taken.

and if that is the case, someone can buy a truckload and make offer them to us

I just have to say that I love your user name! so cute!

I just spent some time looking through the website you posted. If you go through and read some of the feedback, MANY are extremely negative. I think they''re just using LOGR pics because the main complaint is that the rings purchased/sent are fake and plastic-looking. It definitely sounds too good to be true!!!

Here''s an example of a ring you CAN find in the LOGR ebay store:

Take a look at the ''seller''s trust score''...I wouldn''t buy from him/her after reading that!

If you keep searching the site, you''ll see more pics with LOGR on them and different seller names...

Ditto this. Also, I went through the process to order, and it creates an order BEFORE you pay, which is bizarre to me.

This sellers on this site don''t seem reputable at all . . . if you can afford to lose the cash, go for it, but otherwise, I would run the other way.

Thank you :)
And thank you guys for taking a minute to look at it. I saw it and I knew the only way to know was to put it on PS for everyone to analyze. Still pretty interesting in my opinion, wonder what the Gem Lord would say about it lol.

This is an interesting site. What is notable is at least one of the sellers (I made a sham purchase to see) accepts paypal..so possibly legit. The total for the ring I *bought* was $71 and some change. Some of the sellers have much higher shipping costs than others...this seller had DHL for $41. Seems too good to be true, but it would explain why these settings are so cheap from LGOR. I just don''t have the nerve to be the guinea pig to test it out LOL

Wow...I did some more research on this site and it is definitely bogus!

When you click on the sellers product there is a place in the description for feedback. Out of the six I''ve read so far, all six have claims of fake products, or significantly not as described, or totally different. Not real gold, not real diamonds...you get the idea. Now it could be that since business is so cut throat in China (we see that between the Chinese sellers on eBay), that they are tainting each others feedback. But I am surprised that Paypal even allows this site to use their service, judging by the horrific feedback these sellers have!

And the site seems to limit the shown feedback to 5 comments, even on sellers that have 30 or more..so I can''t help but wonder what is NOT beings shown.

**slaps forehead**
duh, I''m sorry. I thought you were talking about the *actual" LOGR seller on ebay.
Teach me for posting late at night, lol !

I don't know much about different ebay sellers from China, but I would definitely not go with a LOGR setting for an engagement ring. Mine was put together pretty crappily (if that's a word LOL) but I know someone else did and they were happy with theirs. I guess luck plays a role too, and paying for the upgrades. I just wouldn't want the milky looking single cuts I ended up with for an ering.

Oops, I don''t mean to confuse anyone, I never meant for the semi mount for an e-ring, I just wanted some for play. Thanks for the heads up tho :) And seeing as how many PS members know about LOGR I thought this would be an interesting find to say the least. When I posted about it I hadn''t had time to check it all out and do a more detailed investigation but I see what everyone is talking about now with the feedback and such. Thank you everyone for replying to my first thread instead of blowing it off
