Did any of you check out the new listings today. Is it just me, or did some of the prices increase by $100? I could be wrong? I remember getting my heavy tourmaline mounting with the diamond upgrade and the special head customization for $350, and some of these mountings are now starting at $350 with no customization or diamond upgrades. I hope I''m imagining things.

I think so. I was planning on buying a cushion setting and now will have to wait.

Within a week it seemed the prices on the ones I like went up.

Have you tried to bid of the settings??? Each time I try someone outbids me and it never gives the name, only as "private listing bidder". I wonder if I''m seen as that to others? Who is this mystery person??

I think they have gone up too! I used to see the settings I like going for around $100, maybe up to $130 or so. I got mine for $150 which is certainly fine, but I can''t afford them when they''re higher.

I just remembered. I put in a bid $1 over the starting price. I didn''t win the item because I decided that if it went higher I shouldn''t get it anyway. It went for $15 or so over the asking price, but then I got a second chance offer. Maybe that mystery bidder out-bid me in the first place.

It''s kind of odd because I got a second change thing that I was outbidded by the "mystery bidder." I wonder if it''s the seller??

Sounds like it easily could be. Bummer.

The prices do seem to have gone up. If it''s the seller doing the "mystery bidding" then that''s just wrong. Does he still have a link to Pricescope on his auctions? *off to look*

When I started this thread, I wasn''t concerned if he raised the prices $10 or $20, but I think the settings have gone up $50 to $100 or more. That''s what I"m seeing here. I understand he wants to make money, but he shouldn''t take advantage of a little popularity all of a sudden and just think everyone is going to pay $100 more for his settings. I think he would have done better to keep the prices down and do more volume. My opinion. He does have other competition. While I love his rings and they''re a good deal, I don''t think many of them, after the diamond upgrade and the extra $100 rise in price, are such a value anymore. He also increased the diamond upgrade from $199/ct to $249/ct. That''s quite an increase. Therefore, I purchased my Tourmaline LOGR mount with the diamond upgrade and the setting customization and the resizing for $350 total. I now see that ring starting at $349!! If I were to buy it today with all the features I wanted, it would be $450!! I can buy settings on sale at my local jeweler for that price.

He still has the Pricescope link on his listings.

I just started looking at settings so I''m not aware of the price increase. But it is disturbing if this is happening. I want this to be fun and affordable. And if I want to upgrade, that I''m able to do so. I''ve been looking at other sellers and they seem to be better priced. The only thing is I don''t know about the quality of their items.

Didn''t mean to hijack your thread...sorry.

You didn''t hijack my thread at all. I''m glad we''re discussing this. BTW, someone here mentioned that they purchased settings from some of his competition and they turned out nice. I emailed his competition and the upgrade fee for diamonds on a setting seems to be a flat $50. LOGR charges by the carat and that can be expensive. I''m going to get one from the competition I think. There''s one comprable to the LOGR setting for my chocolate diamond, and with sizing and the diamond upgrade, it will still be less expensive than the LOGR one at the base price.

Hi! I can shed some light on the ''private listing bidder'' thing on ebay as I''ve sold some items on ebay before (not jewelry, just did the ''techy'' version of an e-garage sale). When it comes to higher value items, such as jewelry, a lot of times the seller will list the auction as a ''private auction''; meaning the auction protects the identity of the buyer and doesn''t share the winning identity with the other bidders. It also protects ALL of the bidders identities so if the bidding gets heated while the auction is still live, no one can send nasty messages to one another, etc. Anyone bidding on a private auction shows up as ''private listing bidder'', including us.

The ''second chance offer'' is what happens when 1 of 3 things occurs: 1. the item doesn''t sell, 2. the auction winner doesn''t pay, or 3. the auction winner changes their mind and doesn''t want the item anymore. Then the seller is allowed to reach out to the other high bidders to see if they still would like the item.

I hope this helps!

It''s not uncommon for large ebay sellers with lots of inventory to offer second chance offers, nor is it uncommon to make the bidder IDs private on auctions for valuables. If you have reasonable evidence of fraud, you should should contact ebay directly.

Hi Tourmaline Lover! By the way, I love your posts and have learned so much - thank you! And thank you for sharing the online stores/sellers - I REALLY appreciate it!

I definitely have noticed a significant price increase in the starting bid on LOGRs auctions. I''ve also noticed, though, that MANY of his auctions that start with the higher price aren''t selling. It seems that people are speaking with their wallets and are walking away from these high-start-price auctions. Hopefully within the next few weeks he''ll get the message...

I''ve also noticed that folks (including myself) are now bidding more on his 0.99 start price auctions with no reserve. In particular I was watching a diamond pave right hand ring that he lists for $499. In the 0.99 start price auction, it actually sold for $350 and didn''t have a reserve. This week, I now see a couple of 0.99 start price auctions, BUT WITH a reserve. It should be interesting to see how this all pans out and how it affects the LOGR prices moving forward as he seems to be experimenting at the moment.

I LOVE the LOGR settings and a few of their rings, but I''m so glad that we have other options as well while he''s experimenting with his new-found popularity and pricing!

Wow, thank you for the kind words! I do hope "Mr. LOGR" gets the message. Love his settings, but not the new prices!!

I saw it too, was going to get a setting for my aqua but can't afford it now as price went up. I knew it would happen, he got a lot of business and thought he could rasie the prices, it always seems to work out that way. Does anyone know what the name of his "competitor" that is mentioned is?
