$10.5 million for the pearl.

After the brooch, the Ping Pong rings will come up. Those are in the realm of "normal" people, so I am guessing there will be a huge premium.

Wow - the rings are closing at $85k! Over 10 times the estimate for some small diamonds.

I am curious about the JAR ring. JAR pieces always get top price and this one also has Liz glamour.

The ring was obviously undervalued at $8-12k, but $158k is impressive.
 
I am rather amused that we are watching an auction as though it was an spectator sport.

$400k for a 9.6 carat fancy yellow diamond on a 17 inch chain with coloured diamonds sounds pretty good.

I think the Art Noveau butterfly that is coming up is just charming. 10 seconds after opening, it is already at $50k and going up.

I don't think he'd recut this one...

I'm really suprised that the brooch went for more than the necklace - the necklace being one of THE pieces.
 
I agree - doesn't make a lot of sense. I wonder what the ruby ring will go for.

I missed which representative got the pendant. Is there any chance it won't be separated from the necklace?
 
update: La Peregrina actually sold for $11.8 million.

Lady-D, who knows about Graff, but I would hope no. With that gem's provenance, it needs no potential IF grade...and in just a bit, we'll see.
 
Once again, I don't understand why the coral earrings were more expensive than the bracelet. My guess is just plain demand (more people wear earrings than bracelets) even though the bracelet has more intrinsic value.

Next time I am bidding on ebay, I will be sure to wear evening dress. So much more glamorous.

The auctioneers are grinning from ear to ear.
 
I don't think the Bucheron snake watch is up tonight. The only watch in today's auction is Vacheron, which closed at $362k, against an estimate of $300 - $500k. I guess the watch people stayed at home.
 
Wow - the book is at $170k + cost!

I liked the first auctioneer better. Nice, smooth voice and not quite as rushed.

$974k against an estimate of $12-15k. The estimate seems very weird to me. You couldn't buy a similar new watch and this one has the added bonus of being worn on the set of Cleopatra.
