To make a long story short, I have 4 nieces and nephews. I wanted the oldest niece (she''ll be 6 when the wedding comes) to be the flowergirl. My sister in law heard about it, got jealous, and wants her son (my nephew) to be in it too. So I pretty much have to have them all in the wedding now, bc that wouldn''t be fair. So what can I do with them? There are 2 girls (6 and 2) and 2 boys (4 and 3). I have never been fond of a ring bearer idea. Could both girls be flowergirls? What can the boys do? My mom suggested they walk up ringing bells or something...any ideas?

What about having the boys serve as "escorts" for the flower girls? They could walk down the aisle in pairs, with each girl holding her basket of flowers, arm-in-arm with her escort. Just one idea!

Some brides have boys run down the aisle ringing bells while shouting "the bride is coming! the bride is coming"! but I've always found that to be kind of hokey. That's just me, though.

OK Robbie...I have to ask! How are you arranging the 3 ring bearers? Are the girls and boys all wearing the same things?

I''m sorry, but 2 year olds are just way too young! If you must have 2 and 3 year olds make sure they are holding someone''s hand as they walk down the isle and plan on at least one of them being too cranky or shy to actually make the trip. It''s pretty hard to predict the mood of a toddler and expect they''ll cooperate in a strange environment even if their mommies think they look adorable all dressed up. I love children at weddings and in weddings but 4 years old should be the youngest.

I have 4 flower girls (8, 5, 3 and 3) and 1 ring bearer (7). Two of the FGs are sisters so I''m hoping the oldest will help the youngest, but I''m kind of expecting at least 1 of the 3 year olds to flake out. That''s why I have back-up!

I think it is cute to have more than one flower girl.

Robbie, 3 rings?

could you have the boys pass out wedding programs? (like a junior usher). I''m going to have 4 flower girls (6,5, and 2 4 yr olds). The 7 year old niece is the ring bearer and the 8 year old niece is the usher (just passing out programs).
