Hey guys,

Wondering what your opinions are on the stone in this ring? It is supposed to be an indicolite tourmaline but I'm not seeing much green here.

Wondering if this looks like a pariaba or something else?

if copper isn't present, it would not be paraiba. You might ask if its been tested. It could still be considered indicolite as they come in ranges from open to closed blue.

My non scientific opinion is that its a bluegreen/greenblue tourmaline.

That seems to be a weird pic to me. Hard to tell as it seems manipulated to me, given there is no shadowing of the ring - perhaps super bright light or something? Anyway, I agree that it looks more the color of apatite than indicolite. But I sincerely doubt that is a representative photo of how it will behave in real life.

Thanks for all your responses. I am not buying but as a was browsing I came upon it and just struck me as strange. It does look apatite-ish to me as well, I was just curious since I am not a CS expert.

I sort of knew that Indicolite is defined as blue tourmaline - that is to say, green that is sufficiently blue.

Then, anything is possible in tourmaline.
