I need your advice on linen colors for my May 2009 wedding!

It will take place at a golf course, the ceremony will be under a tent on the patio and hopefully cocktail hour outside overlooking the greens and the reception in the ballroom. The BM dresses are slate blue (see pic) and the flowers will be all white with minimal green with hanging amaranthus and such.

Our colors are slate blue, white and silver. We are also using some crystal and pearl accents and LOTS of candles. The room is pretty neutral with lots of windows and natural light. FI and I keep going back and forth about whether to do ivory table cloths with silver napkns or blue table cloths with silver napkins! I love the look of a "white wedding" and the blue sometimes seems wintery. However, the ballroom is very plain and I don''t want it to look too boring. I guess I just love the white because I can see the room filled with candles and looking very romantic. Which do you suggest???

First, here are the BM dresses

I like white. It will look crisp and spring-y. I feel like blue tablecloths + blue BM dresses might add up to too much blue.

However, it''s all about what you can picture at the venue. At my venue, we''re able to "borrow" some linens and set up a table or two to see how it looks. I haven''t done this yet, but I feel like it will be helpful. Can you set up something like that? Could you also get the opinion of your site coordinator or someone similar?

and here are our 2 linens-
wedgewood blue bichon vs. ivory cream bichon

Oops--looks like I posted too early. I''m sorry for interrupting your posts! My vote is for the ivory, but the blue is also a gorgeous color. It''s more muted than I pictured, so I''m not sure that you''d have too much blue if you chose it. Both choices will look very rich and lovely =).

My vote is for the ivory. The sheen and texture of your linens will keep it from looking too plain, and you''ll have lots of other chances to add color.

Go with ivory and use blue for accent decor (flowers etc). Blue table cloth will be too dull.

Btw, love the ceiling high windows!

Thanks ladies. Kittybean- We do have the chance to do a linen mock up but we have to ask our site coordinator to get linens. I was trying to minimize the amoutn she had to order but I guess we could just see both.

Pjean and Kama S- We have decided on white flowers- orchids, hydrangeas, gardenias, roses, etc. and our centerpieces are silver so that does not leave much in the way of blue... except maybe the favor boxes.

I also forgot to mention we are doing silver chivari chairs.

Guess the white is winning though :)

with the white flowers and the sliver I think wedgewood blue bichon would look best in that beautiful reception hall! It will bring much needed color into the room.

MS, my vote''s for ivory too ''cause I think it''s crisp, modern and elegant. To add colour I think you could use clear vases for your flowers and wrap either silver or blue ribbon around them. Alternatively, you could use a coloured vase or other container for your centerpieces. By the way, your venue is gorgeous!
