I am back from the jewelers. They of course did not take the stone out of the setting but the MM 8.17 measurements of the diamond are close to the same as the 2 loose stones I got earlier, and I am sure this one is over 2 ct in weight as the others were too.

The HUGE difference is the color. My 2 loose stones faced up white but had a yellow tint when they were next to the E colored stone but were less than the I colored stone I had that was appx the same size.

This set stone is MUCH better in color. I won't have a good benchmark on what color it is unless I decide to pop it out and put it next to some graded stones.

I have a 5 stone LB ring being made and I am considering swapping the 2 CT loose that I had originally planned putting in there with this one. The loose one faces up beautifully but this one does seem closer to an f in color.

Oh before I forget.

The necklaces come in a bigger and sturdier box than the 1 ct used to . the old boxes had a see though hole on the top . The one that came with this set stone has no viewing window.

I DO NOT think I like the setting for the stone. ( love the stone, but the setting leaves much to be desired) It doesn't naturally sit flat and is wobbly because of the way the back is. I am probably going to have it reset or do something to make it less wobbly.

Wow!!! I did not know that they made 2ct necklaces !!

How is the chain? Is it sturdier than the ones used for the 1 ct?

Do you think the color difference is because one is in a setting?

Wow! I wonder if they put the whiter ones in jewelry. I will see about mine when I get it - I know I start to strongly notice tint at I in larger stones against my pale skin.

It is HUGE and gorgeous!

Your necklaces are gorgeous! Thank you for posting about your experience and observations.

I wish I could tell you but I have no idea what chain the LB people used for the 1 ct stones because I had my 1ct stone set in a setting that could go on any necklace.

I would assume they would not use anything less sturdy that the one on the 2 ct stone because I think the chain they have for the 2 ct stone is very very cheap to begin with. I am not impressed with the setting it is in right now.

When it comes to color it is so hard to tell when a stone is set and faces up. Well cut stones hide color very well to begin with. Until I get it pulled from the setting and face down I can't be sure of anything. I am sure it is not darker though. It looks more colorless when I hold them next to each other. I only have 2 of the three diamonds on hand and the 2 that I have are both set. The only loose 2 ct LB stone I have left is at the jeweler still waiting for the setting to be made.

I am assuming it is probably still luck of the draw. It seems some people got loose stones closer to g in color and some got some that were closer to an I in color. As more people get the preset necklaces though I am guessing we will have and idea if there is any rhyme or reason to the color of the stones.

I really appreciate your review and photos. Your pendant is lovely, and so nice to see it with your one carat for comparison. It makes me even more excited as I await mine! I am in Canada, and expect to receive it Thursday or Friday.

Mine has also arrived. Will try to get some better photos posted later. I am very pleased. The stone is super sparkly, and faces up quite white. I think it is in the g-h range, based on placing it near other stones I have, but I am no expert. ( As the stone is set, and my other diamonds are as well it is difficult to tell. ) I agree with tksyx that the setting is poor. The stone flips and the chain is very fine. I will have my jeweler unset the stone, measure and weigh it and report back. So far though, it's a winner!

Weighing in here with my 2 carat necklace experience. I already own 2 pairs of studs from Lightbox, 1 ct tw rounds and 2 ct tw cushions. I love them both; they are very white to my eyes.

The 2 ct necklace has a visible body color that I could see before I even removed the necklace from the box. Also not a fan of the setting and flimsy chain. I’m probably going to return it, hoping to eventually buy a loose 2 ct “Finest“ stone and put it in a setting of my choice.

Photography‘s not my strong point, but here’s a photo of the pendant with the cushion studs. The body color difference isn’t quite this noticeable IRL, but it definitely bothers me.8420414A-9F46-4100-8E7B-E8248D818FFB.jpeg

WOW . No way that is a J or better if that is how it looks in natural light. That is not even close.

Gatacola, I agree you ought to send yours back and perhaps try again. Here are a couple more pics of mine, taken outdoors on a cloudy day. I think you can definitely do better!

I’m glad yours is so pretty! I definitely will try again, but probably with a loose stone. I would prefer a sturdier necklace setting and one in platinum.

I guess my real worry was that all of the whiter stones were ending up in the new “ Finest” category, but from this and other threads it seems some people have received really nice 2 carat stones.

That seriously looks like an L.. I love it but that's not in the normal G-I range. Thank you for posting.
