Light peachy sapphire - any advice or opinions?

Hi all,

I'm new here, apologies if I inadvertently break a rule

I am looking to buy a 2.59ct, 9.2 x 7mm, natural, unheated peach sapphire.

I haven't seen the stone in the flesh, only pictures and a video from a very reputable bespoke jeweller.

Has anyone got any opinions on this type of stone/colour?
What style setting do you think would look best? I was thinking a halo but worried about making it look even bigger.
I'm not a flashy type of person! At the minute I only wear simple diamonds set in platinum.

Any thoughts would be great. Have been reading other threads and it's all very interesting.

The pictures seem to showcase the yellow more than the peach. Please ask the vendor to provide better pictures. You have to be able to see the sapphire straight on to see the face up colouration and cut. Did the vendor provide any proof of its untreated status?

It is the larger yellowy peach one that I'm looking to buy.
The other one was described as peach pink.

I am waiting for more pictures. My husband is going to view on Wednesday. Unfortunately I'm unable to.
I haven't seen proof yet, just his word. But will before parting with money.

Oh, I see it as a muted yellow, rather than yellow peach.

Yes possibly. I guess it will look different again to the naked eye.

I'm more of a muted type of gal, rather than bright colours but does a muted colour mean a less inferior/valued stone?

Muted colours should cost a lot less than bright colours. That said, buy what you love and if it is muted, then muted it is.

It looks pretty if you like the color. Sort of reminds me of imperial topaz. The cut seems nice, but I'm not as expert as others here, so maybe you can get some other opinions. What color gold are you setting it in?

I think it looks pretty and the video shows it really shining.

I'm considering diamond halo, diamond down the band and rose gold.
All my other jewellery is platinum so I don't think I could wear it with my wedding ring if I had something other than platinum.

I'm currently trying to find out what rough cost should be.

It is a nice stone and get it if you like it but if you are particular that it is peach, it looks more yellow to me than peach.

This is peach for me.

Thanks Seaglow. Compared to the pic you have shown it does look like it has a more orange/yellow glow to it than the pink peach of yours.

Maybe it will look different to the eye.
