It does seem like so to me..those light blue I see so far always have a gray tone to it..on a search for one that resemble clear water. Unheated, better so if its custom cut. mm..size 7mm and up. Can someone point me the right direction?? Thanx

I'm not sure if it's treated or not (you'd have to email Peter) but this one looks pretty (it isn't very light but it's not dark either):

This one from gemrite is unheated, it's light with slight grey:

If you want something specific, you'd have to email the cutters directly

Jeff White at whitesgems seems to be the most popular (on this forum) for custom sapphire gems:

What's your budget?

Light blue doesn't always equal gray - light blue only means that the tone is light. The greater the saturation, the less gray it shows. Basically, you seem to be looking for a light toned blue sapphire but with at least medium to strong saturation. I haven't shopped for blue sapphires for a while so I'm not sure where's a good place to look other than Tan.

If tone is super light, or super dark for that matter, it will impede saturation. However, you should be able to find saturated gems in a medium light tone, and that includes sapphires.

Hi TL, Chrono and Gempassion thanx for the help.

I have seen the saaphires from the link. They appeared very gray to me..Pete's stone is off my budget. I am looking at $600 and below.

I have browsed Tan's site and most of his sapphire are of darker blue. I will drop him an email to enquire more..
