They are forecasting snow and very cold (for here) temperatures here in jolly old Blighty later on this week. My favourite weather which I know makes me a little odd. I lived in Michigan for 16 months in the early 90's and loved the Winter there. Has anyone else got snow yet this year?

Where is Blightly? I live in Michigan... No snow yet but we might have a few light flakes on Thanksgiving.

Hi Tuckins Blighty is the UK. I think the term came from WW2, but could easily be wrong. I spent Thanksgiving 92 and 93 in MI and seem to remember snow on the ground for both. It was lovely

It's snowing VERY lightly here! Yesterday we had some bigger, fluffy flakes but they didn't stick. It's cold right now - when I drove my kids to school, it was 29 F.

I am in Ohio, we have had a few flakes here and there, but not much, its is suppose to be a rain snow mix on Friday morning, but 55 and rainy on Thanksgiving...I'll take it.

We had snow a little over a week ago. We only got about an inch but the farther east you went the more snow they had-I think they got several inches actually. Snow is in the forecast for the rest of the week but I don't know how much. It's hard to say what will happen.

I remember when I was a Senior so in 92, I stayed after school to help a friend make up his brothers for Halloween, and we were busily getting them all cuted up and in walks my parents, yelling at me to get my coat and get moving. (friend's mom had no phone and this was way before cells) My dad hollers "Don't you ever look outside?!" And lo and behold, we were in the middle of a blizzard. My dad works overnights, so my mom had woken him up to come get me or I'd have been stuck in town. (or out on a highway somewhere) Ha, Iowa winters are cuh-raaay-zeee! They're calling for a repeat of last years 60+ inches for the season.

It's been snowing for a full week in CowTown. I have a couple of feet out back.

Here's a shot taken on the first morning. The lake has now frozen over and it's currently a balmy -19 degrees centigrade.

Cold enoungh for you?!

I don't know what that is in F, Gailey but that is a gorgeous picture! I love winter scenes!

About -2 degrees F I think. Damn cold any how Packy!

I'm in Montana - it's been snowing like crazy for the last week!

Still snowing outside, currently -2 degrees and going down to -17 or so tonight.

Beautiful Gailey.

BEG - how are kitties doing in the weather? lol Mine is going nuts. Trying to attack snowflakes through the window. Maybe I should toss him out on the deck for a few seconds. hehehehe He's all warm and cuddly right now. :)

Oh that's cute!! My cats are totally unfazed. I guess they're used to the snow from their winter in Chicago - they were pretty chill during snowstorms, rainstorms, lightning storms, etc. The only time they really go crazy is during the summer/fall when there are bugs outside the window - they run and jump on/at the windows trying to get to them (and beware any spider or fly that comes into their room - I've seen them catch them and chow down).

Gailey, that's gorgeous, btw!

Holy smokes BEG, that's crazy!! Our worst snow storms here don't compare to any Montana storms!

Haha and the sad thing is - that wasn't actually really that bad! The horror!

Hmm, Montana is due south of Alberta isn't it? I guess we are getting the same weather patterns.

Here's another snow shot taken outside my neighbour's house.

Yours are so calm. I was thinking two would be 10X the chaos. Mine is nuts. Maybe he has ADHD. lol

After the hottest summer I can recall in 32 years of living in my state, I hate to say it, but I will also greet snow with a warm welcome! Today, it's three days before Thanksgiving and we have tornado watches/warnings going on. Just three months ago I remember sleeping next to the window A/C unit on the highest (coldest) setting and wishing I could sleep because it was so freaking hot...I didn't wear makeup all summer and just damn near melted every time I went outside, day or night. I am normally a lover of hot and humid summers, but this past one was beyond human comfort and I would rather freeze for the next six months than go through another summer of nasty, killer heat ever again.

I tend to get very down (moodwise) in the winter months due to the gray days that seem to fade into each other, but honestly the suffocating heat of the past summer has so traumatized me that I don't think I'll have much of an issue with waking up to cold/gray/white/snow this winter. Here's hoping we get dumped on! :appl:

I actually love the weather here. It's either hot or cold. Very little in between and very low humidity. I have a feeling I won't be saying the same about Ontario.

Beautiful pictures Gailey!

BEG -- you're in Montana? For some reason, I thought you lived elsewhere. I mean, not that it matters...

I've lived in New England most of my life and I STILL get excited over the first big snowstorm (or at least snow fall). We haven't had one yet but I'm waiting for it. The only thing I hate, besides driving in icy conditions, is digging out my car. We have a one car garage but we use it for storage.

As someone who has never seen snow (and probably wont for some time) the photos on here make it look absolutely magical, just like in the movies.

Gailey- You seem to take that in your stride. Are you a native? I thought you were a Brit!!! But what do I know? Tell all!!!

PS-I adore snow and that looks like heaven, but I know I'd be shivering! Connecticut cold isn't the same as heartland cold!!!

Hugs,
Deb

If it snows overnight in Scotland, I'm going to be ridiculously and pathetically grateful. A snow day. And I have a toddler, so I have a sledging excuse! Oh, bring it on!

It IS beautiful, HOT, especially the first big snowfalls. Everything is covered in white and if the sun is shining, the snow actually twinkles. The only bad thing is that after a few months, the sides of the roads are caked with brown/black snow and slush because of the sand that is often used to coat them. If you overlook that though, it IS pretty.

Freezing cold with a bit of snow here. My crazy coworker is going to try to make it thru donner pass in Cali tomorrow (she has a two door sports car and couldn't find a SUV to rent) :errrr:

HOT- No snow ever?! It is stunning! I don't know what I would do without snow

We have had snow since last week here in Minnesota and are expecting more of a snow sleet combo tonight. I posted some pics. Gailey, I did not know you lived on the water, I am green with envy, your view is glorious! Hot, That is tragic!!!! rsz_11rsz_picture_2183.jpgrsz_1rsz_picture_2180.jpg

Gah, we got iced on Monday and today. I'd rather have snow.

I'm in Toronto, Canada and no snow for us yet!
