I saw that Perry is no longer with LM as the diamond concierge. I heard great things about him...does anyone know if he has been replaced? I am planning on putting a RB in the 411 setting...and was planning on getting a diamond through LM. I would trust an expert like Perry to help select my diamond and the overall price makes sense to get the diamond through LM...but now that he is not there who is the diamond concierge? :think:

Well, you would have to call Leon and ask.

If you want Perry it's not hard to find him, you can have him find you a stone and provided it's not something like a speciality cut that each vendor cuts themselves have it sent to Leon, Steven Kirsch who also used to work for Leon or Victor Canera;

Find out if Leon provides ASET images to evaluate light return. Victor Canera carries top cut quality stones and shows them on his website and likely will have the best selection of the master ring makers. If you do use Leon, I would be sure the shank is at least 1.8mm (2mm even safer) as several people here have had problems with the pave shanks on Leon's rings.

I just wanted to interject and say that that setting is absolutely to die for gorgeous. Exquisite taste!

Has anyone looked at the LM loose diamond section of his website? His prices seem very reasonable. I have heard he doesn't not provide ASET images ( i could be wrong) but he picks based on an the overall "beauty" of the diamond. Maybe this is me just not knowing enough but if it appears like a sparkly, face up white, clean diamond... I do not particularity care about all of the different scientific images and ratios of angles and things like that. You could have a diamond with all the right specs and it not look the way you want right?? or do the numbers not lie? He does provide things such as cut,clarity, symmetry, polish, fluro, length, width, depth, and table. With all of this info is an ASET pic 100% necessary?

I don't use ASET images. People here might shoot me, but I know what I like and what is likely to look good and I don't get into the nitpicking between two stones, I pick the one I like that is the size I want, and I don't waste time finding 4 more similars and picking the one that is 1% better. That's me, and it's not for everybody, but I think it's easy to get sucked into what people on the internet say is "the best" versus a stone you might have really liked and let go in pursuit of something better (and maybe also more expensive.)

I look at videos mostly, but a good face on picture can tell me a lot.

Bear in mind - I don't like rounds. So there's a ton of variability in what I'm buying anyway and the ASET only tells you so much if you know what you're looking for in the first place.
