Hi Everyone!
I am acquiring help on purchasing a loose diamond from Jared. I went to Jared's the other day looking for an e-ring as me and my boyfriend plan on getting engaged by next summer. I have always had my mind set of getting a GIA or AGS diamond, however the salesperson showed me a .75ct LEO diamond which is GSI certified. I have never heard of this lab, but the sales person assured me they are reputable. He showed me the report and I looked at the diamond myself and I didn't find any flaws. It is certified as near colorless(G), SI1, and it is Ideal Leo cut. Cut is the most important to me. The diamond is beautiful to me and my boyfriend loved it so much that he put a deposit to hold the diamond. I am just wondering if we are going to right route by getting a diamond that is GSI certified. Please help me. The cost of the diamond is $4,000.

Hi , I am in the same dilemma as you , I just purchased a Kay ring , but after researching with Ritani realized that for the money that we spent at Kays I can get a better quality diamond from Ritani.. So contemplating returning the Kay rings but waiting to see the Ritana rings first as I have them being shipped to a local jeweler for free preview.. You should certainly check reputable online sites for eg. Ritani lets you do free in Store viewing before buying with no obligation .. Kay is convenient but realize now that I could get a better quality diamond for more or less the same as spent with Kays.. The kay ring is a Leo and it is beautiful to my eyes but will wait to see the Ritanis then decide what to do .

Feels like a lot. I just checked and found an online vendors who will sell a 0.8ct G SI1 VG/VG/VG, no fluorescence, EGL-IL-certified (who are often a grade off) for $1400. Or for $3800 a 1.00ct D SI1 VG/VG/VG, no fluorescence. Jared and Kay are the most expensive places to buy a diamond. They have to mark-up their products by 100% just to cover their overhead. If you put some effort into figuring out what you're doing and buy online, you can get the same diamond for half price or less.

By the way, everything in diamonds is negotiable too. I've had vendors tell me they can take 10% off just for asking, and often more. Bulgari used to give 20% off just for asking. I bought something today for 11% off list price, which was already discounted by 30% from the usual price. (You have to watch and make sure the usual price is actually a real price and not some bogus number that's inflated to make you think you're getting a deal.)
