Last two ring projects

Hey! hey! famous last words!

The one I’ll probably see first is for my ruby (or pink sapphire to a purist) and itty bitty graduated demantoids going into HOW’s buttercup. 18k yellow.
I asked Sally to tweak the leaf placement a bit because of stone shape compared to the round.
I love love the round version ( @GearGirly and @mochiko42 ) hope the cushion shape does it justice!



She’s sending the setting to DK for him to set the stones.

The next one was planned, but actually came about in an impulse.
I knew I wanted a sapphire cluster - just wasn’t sure how I was going to get there.
I saw some beautiful sapphires - but they didn’t click with me for various reasons. This is where the impulse comes in.
CVB posted this sapphire - it looks as it does in her pic and mine varying where it is.

Not perfect nor ideal, but nothing I have is, so why change?

I first saw DKs awesome version of this and immediately knew it was the style I wanted.
When CVB posted the sapphire for sale - I figured I’d step out of my comfort zone and have her do the setting as well.
I got these CADs a few weeks ago -

18k yellow shank and either platinum or 18k white unplated for the petals. Seeing the chosen cluster diamonds will be the deciding factor.
There was a prior cad done with much smaller melee and was more of a tweaked current design of hers. It was pretty - but not the cluster look i knew needed.

Thank you! I’m considering this my first diamond halo - bought one 25 years ago that’s supremely ugly, it doesn’t count!

It too me a long time to figure out why I liked the cluster ring CAD so much. I studied your progressions of photoshopped clusters and now I see the genius of the design. I love the proportions.

Here’s the original rendering that was done with the much smaller melee, and only scallops/petals half way round the diamonds.

I had requested no milgrain, so with that removed, I’m imaging the final outcome would be similar to this effect

Pretty- but too modern for what I’m looking for. (@mrs-b , I think the rendering would end up close to what you had indicated you liked, earlier)

Thank you! Very good question on the antiquing. I know I want it to look like a period piece, but I want to see it without first. The ruby ring was the first inspo given, but the style of the ruby brooch really sings to me.

Forgot to mention aside from the petal antiquing undecision - on the yellow gold, I did for certain request an antique color alloy for that.
