This is in response to some requests from FrekeChild on her engagement thread. For those of you not following, I arrived in vegas the same day she left, so we just missed each other. I had a great time there.
Things we did:
Ka - Circe de Soleil show - it was a great show, totally recommend it
Went to 2 breakfast buffets, one at our hotel, the MGM grad and one at Paris - both ok. We went to Paris because it was highly recommended. The food was mixed. I loved the cheeses, pancakes, waffles, some of the meats, and of course, the crapes (the whole reason I went). The eggs Benedict, and a few other things were just ok. The line was super long and almost make it not worth it.
Lots of shopping. I bought stuff at the outlets, and looked in Vegas. We went to the Tiffany's where my BF managed to get me a blue book (they refused to give us one in San Diego).
Dinner at a nice sushi place, Stack, and a Wolfgain Puck restaurant.
I was looking at trench coats, and so my BF took me to Burberry. I tried on a couple of the trenches there and fell in love, but they are soooo expensive. I will have to keep looking at them on the rack right now, but at least I really don't need one in San Diego.
And of course we exchanged presents. I got my BF a Wii. He likes it, but might not keep it because he has a super old TV and wants to save for a new one. So he might put the money towards a TV.
As I was telling Freke, he got me a pair of riding boots. It is kind of a long story, but my BF is the male version of Freke. He has a ton of custom made men's shoes from the days when he was living in New York. I always complain to him that it is not fair that my BF is better dressed than me. He said to me if I am going to have one nice pair of shoes, it should be a pair of dressy riding boots. A while ago, we looked at these boots in stores like Saks, and they were not that nice and overpriced. I said to him, you know the best way to go would be a store that sells equestrian gear. Well, he ran with that, and ended up getting me a black pair with a zipper on the back. They are beautiful, they are works of art. The problem is that he guessed my size and guessed wrong. The other problem is that I am tall, so I wear a larger shoe size, but I have shorter legs for my height, so the boots hit the back of my knee and when I sit they dig into my legs. So we are going to go back Sunday and see if we can find something that will work. I am at home with my parents now, and won't be back till Saturday, so no pics. But I will try to find a link and put my Vegas pics up.
Overall, I had a great time. And no it did not snow. It was kind of cold, but nothing my old east coast clothes couldn't handle.
Here is the link for the boot company. I think these are the right ones but I am not totally sure. Boots link
