Larger Diamond In Titanium

I am very interested in titanium rings I like the contrast of a “mechanical” metal and the beauty of a diamond (it has a yin-yang balance to me). I am looking for a traditional looking engagement ring made from titanium. At the present time I would only be looking at setting a CZ until we can afford a diamond that we will be happy with. I would like 1 ct but haven’t seen anything that large set into titanium. I found this picture on another website and I like the general style

I think it would like proably support most any size but it seems like I have heard something about titanium beng hard to adjust. Since you dont know the exact measurements of your stone this may be an issue. You may want to contact the web page and ask them what they think. You need to be double sure that whatever stone you choose will fit in the setting.

Titanium rings cannot be sized - either for a new finger size or a new stone size. It is possible that after having a CZ set in (even of the same size as the future diamond) it would ot be possible to have it replaced with a diamond because the grooves cut to accomodate the girdle would not fit and that is a tension setting after all. This is one question to ask the maker of the ring.

That is one cool ring, I might add !

Another way to get a traditional-looking ring done in TI is to have a platinum ring head with a Ti band. I don't think this is very straightforward technically, unless it is really a peg head like this.

This is not to say that large diamond do not look fantastic set in Ti... or tension rings.

There were a couple of tension set rings posted on this forum, say 0.8cts in Titanium tension setting

Thanks, you guys gave me alot to think about and I may just be as happy with a smaller stone. I was just curious, that ring with the platnium posts is beautiful. They put a white sapphire in it (from the website) how does that compare to CZ? Is one better than the other?
