Hi Ladypirate! Great photos. You and Kris make a cute couple. I love your house. I enjoyed your stories too.

Thank you so much Marcy! We''ve been having a lot of fun with our house, although right now they''re redoing the roof so we''ve been living with constant banging for the last week.

Aside from that, life right now has been mainly revolving around job searching. We saved enough to live for a few months after moving up here but that time is drawing to a close and we still haven''t found jobs. I''ve had a couple of really good interviews and should hear about one of them this week (fingers crossed!). The other position was a preliminary interview for a position that is coming open this month, so that is a possibility as well. I''m applying for a couple more jobs this weekend as well.

We should be fine through the end of October, regardless, but it''s getting to the point where we''re both a little nervous about finding jobs (especially ones that we like). The current economy means that the job market is not as great as it could be. Plus, it would be nice to be able to afford to go out with friends and whatnot.

So that''s the LP update. PS job dust would be much appreciated if anyone has any to spare!

OH my gosh I AM IN LOVE w/your house

Thanks so much, Skippy! We love it too. It was built in 1922 and still has a lot of its original features, which is very cool. The light switches are two buttons rather than an on/off switch!

We appreciate the job dust! I just heard today that I didn''t get a job I had interviewed for, but we''re remaining hopeful. Luckily, we''ve been able to pick up a little bit of contract work on the side, so we''re not too worried yet. It would just be really nice to have a steady source of income.

As for being good lookin'', thanks! You and your man are quite the handsome couple as well!

I love your house! Craftsman style homes are the best...well except for the really old stuff that no longer works.

How''s the job hunt going? Dust!

Thanks Sunny! The job hunt is going ok--I''ve been applying to stuff like mad and trying not to stress too much. In the meantime I''m doing some volunteer work for one of the organizations I''m hoping to work at (the same one I was working for down in Santa Barbara).

We''re really hoping to make it up to Seattle at some point soon--I''ll definitely let you know when we do. How are things with you?

Sounds like fun!

Better get here quick before it starts raining for the next 8 months!

I would say it''s mostly doable to do Seattle in 1 weekend. You need to walk the waterfront (1 hour), eat some Duke''s chowder (
18.gif
), take the Ducks tour which goes in the water and on the street (I still need to do that, it looks fun!) and take a ferry for good measure. That''s what I love about this place - everything is so close! Though we don''t have the cool trolley like Portland does...

LOL--luckily, we love the rain! We''ve both been to Seattle before (I actually spent a fair few weekends there when I was in college because I went to college in WA), but we love the city. Two of my close friends grew up on Bainbridge Island, so I''ve even taken the ferry out there many times. We''d mostly be going up to see friends and just hang out in the city.

Since you love the P-Town trolley, maybe you should head down this way some weekend! I''m sure there are a few nice jewelry stores around.

Oooh ladypirate I just checked out your photos of your home! I am put to shame, it''s so pretty and so neat and tidy. And with gorgeous curtains!

Sending lots of dust for the job hunt

My list of cutters for your friend:

Dan Stair

Barry Bridgestock (His email is through the "how ACS will function in the future"-or something like that-link on the homepage)

John B

Peter Torraca

Richard Homer

Jeff White

My top three are Peter, Dan and Barry because I''ve exchanged more emails with them than anyone else, but John follows closely behind. Richard and Jeff are wonderful to work with too. Besides...Richard has a sapphire floating around that needs a good home.

Thank you so much, Freke! You rock!

I am so a biter. I am taking the qualities you wanted in a man and journaling them. I don''t think I could have said it better, but in my own private journal, I can expand on a couple of categories
31.gif
When I gauge the men that I have dated, which is admittedly very few, they don''t meet the needs that I have in a relationship. You had an awesome list. It wasn''t too picky either. But it did have important standards. I just can''t be with really quiet, uncommunicative people or oversensitive people. I have such a strong personality that I need strength too. It drives me insane to have a puppy dog who is harboring hurt feelings but won''t communicate. If I wanted that, I would just get a dog.

I love the pictures of your new place, it''s awesome. I think it''s time for me to move.

Thanks, Miracles--I''m flattered!

In exciting news on the job front, Kris had a really successful interview for a job yesterday. He should find out next week if he gets it, so we''re really keeping our fingers crossed! I interview with the Foundation I''m hoping to work for next week, as well. It would be wonderful if we both found jobs so close together.

KRIS GOT THE JOB!!!!!

We found out earlier this week and he starts on Monday--woo! My interview got pushed back to next week (I think), but I''m still really hopeful. Anyhow, just had to post and let all the PSers know about it!

WOHOO!!!! Congrats to Kris!!!!!!!

And good luck with your interview too!!!!

Just kidding. Where''d you go to school?

We should go down there. We''ll need a short vacation next summer I think. Stupid weddings costing so much!

I went to Whitman College in Walla Walla.

It''d be fun for you guys to come down next summer. I''ll definitely let you know if we are able to get up to Seattle next month.

FF has canceled his trip to Portland...just thought I''d share!

And can you send some of that rain down here to the SW? It hasn''t rained for a good long time, and I''m starting to feel like a raisin....

I got a job! It''s actually the job I''ve been hoping to get since I moved up here, so I am just super excited. I start a week from Monday!!!

My mom will be in town all next week so it''s really perfect timing. I feel like our lives are really falling into place up here and I couldn''t be happier!

Hey - congratulations on the new job! How exciting!

So it is my birthday today and Kris decided to give me my present last night! I haven''t had a chance to take pictures, but I am now the proud owner of a Kitchenaid stand mixer!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so surprised. I really wasn''t expecting it at all and he was giving me fake hints to throw me off the trail. Here''s a picture of the model/color so you can see what it looks like:

Happy birthday LP! That looks like a rockin mixer. I have a similar looking one, and I luv it!

Happy birthday LP!!!!!!! can I have your birthday present
