I'm thinking of purchasing a milgrain wedding band, as I like the little flair of detail more than a totally plain band. I read somewhere on Pricescope that milgrain doesn't last forever. I want to hear experiences from real wearers... have you found your milgrain detail held up well? When it does wear, how does that affect its appearance? Can it be touched up? Also, can you still polish a milgrain band without damaging the milgrain? Thanks!

You can touch up and add milgrain. That was something I inquired about with my e-ring setting (see profile pic), and it was confirmed that it can be added back if it wears away. I just love milgrain!

I think taking care of milgrain is the same as taking care of my rings, period. I wear the Tiffany Legacy band with milgrain. I never wear my rings when cooking or doing any kind of housework or activities that might scratch or damage my rings. I keep a crystal ring holder in my bathroom and that is where I take off my rings if I need to do something that could damage them. I don't even unload the dishwasher with my rings on because I think grabbing things and putting them away might cause scratching or wearing away of milgrain. The sides of my ring can be polished but there are diamonds on the top. On a plain milgrain band you have the top polished but not the milgrain part. On the Tiffany plain milgrain band, the center polished part is raised which probably makes it easier to polish without touching the milgrain. I adore milgrain bands!

My husband's wedding rings 14kt gold and his wore off at some point. It was no biggie to get it redone though.

Thanks for sharing your experiences and knowledge, ladies! I feel much more confident now!
