Ladies, what do you think I should do?

Buy her more diamonds and flowers and lunch for Mother's day and give her the watch for her birthday.
No money for diamonds after paying for this watch.

Boy you spoil your wife. My vote is for her bday. Something sweet and considerate for the mother's day.

That is a beautiful watch, DF. She will love it, I am sure no matter what day you give it to her. I am not sure you can get out of one of getting two gifts though.

Forget both and send it to me,she already has one. :mrgreen2:

Thanks guys, I'll save it for her BD. She ain't getting nothing for Mother's Day. Our daughters will take care of her Mother's Day gift.

I combine holidays for big gifts. For example, Christmas and anniversary. I'd rather have one big gift than two small ones. I'd give her flowers for Mother's Day and tell her you're giving her a gift for both occasions on her birthday.
YES!!!

Thanks, bigger watches are in style now, but back in the 80s a 26mm Rolex was the norm for a lady's watch.
When we were shopping for my most recent watch purchase, I did try on a 36mm, and it was just too big, no way around it. Did not like it one bit.

I still wear my 26mm from time to time, but the 31mm is a sweet spot for me. I think your choice is a classic combo ie bracelet/face/metal/bezel. I would LOVE a watch like the one you purchased!

Hubby gave me the 26mm in the early 90's. You're right, 26mm was the 'thing' back in those days!

Ooo, I love that big watch!

She had never try on a 31mm nor a 36mm, but she did say she have trouble reading the time on the 26mm b/c her eyes are getting old... I'd agree with you the 36mm would look too big on her.

 Back in the early 80's there were no RG Rolexes (IIRC) so I bought her a 26mm 18k/SS DJ and bought myself a 36mm 18K DD.

Beautiful watches DF!! :love::love:

I don't know exactly when the 'big watch' phase came to be--but I just can't see plopping down big $$ on a time piece that may go out of style, plus it just looked clumsy on my wrist. The 26mm I agree, can be a bit small--I hope the 31mm will be perfect & she'll find it much easier to read!

I must be the only person who doesn’t like big watches  Mine’s tiny.

I kind of feel like you do @Austina. I have a few watches but could never do the really big ones that have been in style the past 8 years. If you have a small wrist a 36mm looks ridiculous. The watch is wider than the whole wrist. I have a few that are 29 or 30mm that I seem to wear most and they still seem big on my wrist.

Where's mine???

:snooty:

My daughter gifted the watch to her mom yesterday. She said it is her BD gift from the grandkids. 31mm DJ, silver dial, 18K RG/SS on a super jubilee bracelet. Her old watch was 26mm, 18K YG/SS.
Couple of wrist shots.

@Dancing Fire how come you got the all 18k President bracelet while she got the 18k/SS? She deserves an all 18k too.

She prefer the 18K/SS b/c it is not as flashy. Rolex prices are crazy high now. The 18K RG/SS that I just bought her cost more than my 18K President did in 1991. LUNCHTIME!

:clap:Lucky lady!!!!

No kidding, it just cost me $1200 to service mine and the updated appraisal came back at $25300. My Citizen EcoDrive keeps better time but can't be worn in the shower

omg. late to the party, but gorgeous watch. I'm jelly

The watch is beautiful Dancing Fire. Even though we disagree on politics, I sure love your taste in watches.

Thanks CC. Her watch is a liberal watch.

@Dancing Fire your comment made me laugh out loud! It must be why I love the watch? Are your wife or daughters liberals?
