LAck of sparkle

Emerald cuts are very classy looking.
I particularly like the way they look as well as the look of baguettes.

I have a Emerald cut wedding band with 8 stones. I wouldn't say it "sparkles", but is very clear and "rich" looking.

I also have a square cut sapphire. Again, it doesn't really "sparkle", but it has a beautiful look.

If you want sparkle, go with a round.

Emerald cuts and round brilliants are apples and oranges. You can't compare the two because each cut is designed for a very different look. Whenever I hear people bashing ECs for lack of brilliance, my head starts to steam. No, they're not brilliant, but they have an understated elegance and simplicity that no RB will ever match.

Degustibus non disputandum est. Some people prefer brilliance, some like a different look. Neither is right or wrong.
