I had ordered a semi mount ring with side traps and bullets and Ouros cut them as step when they were suppose to be brilliant. He then said that he could use the SAME traps and recut them to brilliant. I had seen him do this with another customer and the final product came out with these weird chevron type arrows in the stones. I asked him to recut them from scratch but he refused, even though it was a mistake on his part.
I finally got the “ final” recut It looks to me like these weren’t cut right and there is a big chevron arrow noticeably in the right stone. Anyone else see it or am I just paranoid and nit picking? I asked from some still photos with a black background to maybe get a better sense of it.
Please I need opinions I am very tired of dealing with this situation for the last 4 months.

To me it looks weird; also the left one looks bigger than the right? Why would they recut the same stone? It seems more work on their part as well. Can you just say "screw it" and cancel and start over with someone else??

I see it too, but try downloading the video to your computer and resizing it down so his finger is your finger size to make the diamonds life size. Does it still bother you?

Honestly I’m at that point, and I think due to money he took the “ recut” route.

I tried to look for a pair of brilliant cut traps on their site and could not find any.

I also looked on Ivy and Rose's site and could not find any.

Therefore I can't determine if the finished recut stones from Ouros look right to me or not.

I would advise Googling to see if there are images and videos of brilliant traps out there so that the OP can compare and contrast before deciding what to do next.

I could imagine the pain of ping pong messaging with them for 4 months! I would probably have called it a day and walked away if the money involved is not too much.

DK :confused2:

No, they aren't right, not well done, and they don't match.
Scrap them, and then move on if he won't cut more to the actual parameters that were set.
His screw up isn't on you.

They don’t look matched to me either. I’m sorry will he give you a refund?

I had purchased long baguettes in a custom semi mount and paid the whole amount up front via PayPal through Etsy . The first ring produced was not the warmer color side stones that I requested and the bar prongs looked uneven. He cut new baguettes in which the color looked warmer but the 2 longer baguette stones did not match in cut at all. One had a very short center step and the other had a very long center step. He said they would cut baguettes that match in cut and that would take a couple more days. My item got marked as shipped since he said it reached some time limit even though the stones are not ready. I’m really regretting my purchase.

These are the bullets that were cut, I’m not super impressed with these either….

I know it's only one picture and doesn't show all angles, but these really don't look like they match!

Can't be certain because the picture isn't great for the purpose, to see the faceting, but these have disordered faceting makes then look like they lack proper contrast. Yeah, not impressed.

These definitely dont seem to match. I'm sorry

I’ve always been a bit skeptical of Ouros cuts. Not that I think it’s impossible to get a well cut stone from Ouros, I don’t think that. I’ve seen a few on their page that were lovely and good enough for me. But I worry about consistency with the custom cut route, and the returns process. I ordered step cut traps from him and thankfully I was able to cancel after I started to worry. This was months ago.
