Lab Grown Round Help

I did get my rings from him! I had the diamond shipped directly to him from the seller. He sent the seller an insured envelope (I believe), and it went directly to him. Working with him on the design went very smoothly--this was my first time doing it, so I had lots of questions, and David patiently answered them. You do not pay him until he makes the ring and you approve the pictures (I was surprised as I thought I would need to give him a deposit or something similar). The design process went on for several weeks as I worked though what the rings would look like-emails back and forth with different "tweaks" on designs. The "making" process--casting, setting, polishing, etc. took about 2 1/2 weeks- I am rough on rings, and although I love love love the pave' look--I knew I would be cranky every time I lost a stone (which is fairly common in pave' if you wear them every day). We spent a lot of time working through band designs to get a pave' look without the fragility of pave. At the last minute we decided instead of one wider "wedding" band that we attempted all sorts of pave-like options--channel set, prong set, etc.--we went with double eternity bands with extra "reinforcement" of the holding of the stones. I sourced the main diamond, but David provided all the small melee', the embedded birthstones in the shank, and also sourced all the diamonds for the two eternity bands. The rings are exquisitely made--perfect symmetry throughout, great attention to detail, and priced very fairly (compared to what we can get around here in retail stores). In fact, I am already thinking about what my next project will be with him!

I am terrible at taking pictures--and I am a "no fuss" kind of girl--no manicures, etc.--I might be out digging in the garden with my rings on--that's why we went sturdy. I love the details of the prongs--tiny hearts. I'll try and find a side detail of the basket--it's beautiful.
Here are some of David's "glamour shots" that show the details of the basket, the inlaid birthstones of my husband and kids, etc. The E ring and the eternity bands fit together perfectly.

OMG thank you so much! So, all 3 are from David? and only the center is from another source? I LOVE THEM!!!!! Are the bands eternity?

All three rings were designed and made by David. All stones were by David except the center stone on the Engagement ring. Yes, the bands are eternity bands. We played with the stone size, we didn't want to go bigger because we didn't want to take away from the center stone--plus that stack was getting thick--and I didn't want the rings to go up to my knuckle :) I also did not want a "skinny" band on the center stone. That engagement ring is 4 mm at it's widest (where the stone is) and tapers down on the "underside" for wearing comfort.

Also those eternity bands are made with a bit "sturdier" prongs than normal--I don't "baby" my rings so I needed them to be able to take a beating, and that's what David came up with :)

I love all of this. I’m same as you. Not gentle with my rings and maybe get a mani once per year. lol. Thank you for all you have shared. I’m so torn on what to do but will definitely work with David either way.

Thanks again! Gorgeous set. ❤️

Oh how big is center ???? I’d love something huge like that!

The center stone was picked out and vetted by Kim and DejaWiz and bought by another Pricescoper. She decided to go another direction, and listed it on Pre-loved gems. Kim didn't see any good stones priced well in that size range at the time I was looking,

It's 4.13 (looks like a 4.20). My finger size is 5.5 (probably should have gotten a 5.75). I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what would look large without looking like a ring pop. I thought I wanted a 5 ct, but it looked a little too big on my finger. I came up with looking for 4.25-4.5. I wanted it to be as big as possible without looking fake. I ended up with 4.13 (visually a 4.20) and I'm happy with it. I learned on this site that finger size really can affect the perceived visual size of a diamond. So the smaller the fingers, the smaller the diamond can be and still look like a "stunner". If you are hard on rings, stay away from pave' settings unless you can live with replacing a stone or two every year--I just knew that would have driven me crazy.

Ps-- Had a mani once in my life--for my wedding-LOL!

Hi there. I wanted to circle back to see if you got your ring yet from David Klass and how do you like it? I spoke to him a few weeks ago and am trying to decide where to have my ring made. Just curious 1) did it go smoothly shipping a stone to him ? and 2) are you happy with your ring that he made?

Thank you for anything, pics, stories, you can share with me.

@freedom2016
Hi...I know you didn't ask me but I also just had a ring/wedding band made from him. He was super easy to work with, very responsive to questions/concerns, he sent me an insured label and I shipped my loose stone to him (gives detailed instructions on what needs to be done to ship), no deposit or payment until you approve the final pictures, and I couldn't be happier with how my ring turned out. If you check my post history, I posted david's pictures he sent in that post where I received assistance finding a stone. It looks even better in person! Hope this helps and best of luck!

@Kim N - Hoping you can assist me. I went to Hannaoush today just to try on some ideas as I’m all over the place with what I want. Now I’m thinking I want a 7 stone with .50 each.
Would you be able to find me the best .5
D VVS2 you can and send me the link so I have an idea of how much each stone would be and what specs I’d want?
I’m trying to get an idea of how much this ring may cost in total.
If u were to pick the best performers for yourself what would one be. ?
Secondly - if you were to have this made - where would u go?
Would u do DK to make it and ship stones to him or maybe someone else ?

Thank you! I always see u helping everyone and we all appreciate it!!

I'm happy to help!

This is a beautiful 0.51 D VVS2 for $172.

I would definitely ship the stones to DK for the setting. I've worked with him many times, as have a lot of other PSers.

Hi there
Thank you so much. Are you able to send me the link to the stone please? This way I know what details it should have. I know when I go to do this I won’t end up w this exact one but if I can save the report details then I’ll know what to make sure they have.
Also what’s the max you would spend per stone?
Thank you for DK feedback also !!

I'd probably pay max $200 per stone.

Here's the link.

HI Kim
I had a question for you. When I was searching for an EGD - ACA stone, the kind folks here gave me specific parameters to make sure the stone had to get the best light performance and sparkle. When getting a LGD do these things also need to be the same OR do they not matter? Forgive my lack of knowledge on this.

60-62.5 depth
54-57 table
34-35 crown angle
50-55 stars
40.6-40.8 pavilion
75-80 LGF
