Lab Diamond Emerald Cut Comparison Videos

Hi all,

I am new to this platform but have found various threads incredibly helpful, so I am trying my luck for some opinions and insight into my diamond search. I am looking for a lab grown emerald cut diamond, 3 CT (or face up as such), H or I (for yellow gold band with white gold head), VS1-VS2. I am working directly with an internally recommended diamond broker, however, he specializes in earth-mined diamonds. But for all the lab grown inventory I have seen, his options offer the most for the price point.

Stone 1 = VS1, H, 3.00 ct, 1.36 ratio ($10,200)

VS1 IGI Report

Stone 2 = VS2, H, 3.02 ct, 1.46 ratio ($8,650)

Both VS1 & VS2 side by side

Please let me know your thoughts and which one you would go with, any comments on the stones are appreciated too.
* i have asked for ASET images and they are unavailable, as well as 360 degree view/photos since this inventory comes directly from cutters/dealers/wholesalers in the industry, they typically do not have the ability to provide that

Well, thats great...the first stone he is twisting side-to-side and the second stone he is twisting at an angle. Not very helpful for
comparison IMO.

The first one(VS1) seems like it might have some leakage (pretty hard to tell with that video). The second one looks better IMO.
Are these stones listed on any websites with up-close videos? That would be most helpful at this point.

Agreed that the 1st one doesnt look great to me but its hard to tell

VS1 has a lot more leakage (looking at the comparison video). VS2 is more promising. Check out their ASET images.

thank you so much for your input!! I recently saw your reply on another thread on how the flashing of the facets should extend down to the center of the stone (so helpful-never knew this!) and i was not seeing that with the VS1, so your comment on leakage confirmed my hunch. Was the 3rd video of both diamond side by side a little more helpful if you full screen it? It did show how each stone was affect from the same movements. What do you think of the VS2's facet pattern and balance of black/white in the steps?

Unfortunately these are not listed online as they are inventory directly from a diamond cutter. I have asked the broker if they could take magnified photos and he will let me know if so

i had a gut feeling of the same thing, thank you for weighing in- this helped a lot! i did like how the first one appeared brighter and whiter initially, but after researching here i found that can be attributed to the leakage and appearing "see through" which isn't a good thing (i think?) because it could look dull. You want to look for dimension and the black and white flashing of the steps is a good thing. correct me if i'm wrong!

Yup exactly. You want to see the black/white flashing of the steps as the stone moves. You want to avoid the stone looking see through and avoid it looking all white or all black at the same time because if it's ever all "black" then it will just look kind of lifeless.
