Noticed this on Etsy, a company selling only a certificate for a sapphire. This is why it is important to buy from a
recognised lab. This certificate will be sold with a lookalike stone but not have any relation whatsoever to that sapphire, if it is even a sapphire. This will get the dealer a better price using a fake certificate. Buyer Beware when buying stones with certificates which don't belong to the stones.

Make sure to report it!

And they have 20 available!

Thank you for sharing this, a good reminder for everyone to be vigilant when buying gems online. This seller looks dodgy as anything!

Well, it's possible that the listing is there for another reason: you add the certificate to your shopping cart when you're purchasing a stone that does not already have -- as some of his stones do

-- a report from that Canadian lab & you'd like to get the stone assessed before it's shipped out (he's in Canada).

I've seen that MO with other etsy and eBay vendors.

Also questionable, selling a certificate for the diamond simulant moissanite. A bogus unknown "lab" with an official sounding name "certifies" the characteristics of the created simulant analogizing it to a diamond. Buyer beware.
