I''m wondering if anybody has dealt with either of these two stores in Seattle.

I have friends who got their diamond through International Jewelers, and then went to L.T. Denny to have it set in a ring they found there. Apparently L.T. Denny sent it out to have it set and it was really screwed up, but they noticed the problem and notified them, and then made good on it.

I''m considering ordering a diamond online and finding a ring locally and having it set there, and I''m looking for suggestions around Seattle for the latter.

Thanks!

Pacifig Gem in Seattle!!!! I have worked with them for years. You can get your stone and purchase/create a custome setting. They are experts in their field! Call first and ask for Dave or Rose.

I dealt with Alvin Goldfarb jewelers during my cushion search (I ended up finding my stone in NY and having it sent to Canada), but I found Goldfarb''s owner to be very knowledgable and willing to compete with Blue Nile prices and could probably even source the same stones as found on Blue Nile like our PS vendors. The owner was very responsive and courteous when I spoke with him, so it might be worth a visit to see if they''re a good fit for you. I have full trust in the PS vendors like Mark T at ERD, Jon at GOG and the gang at Whiteflash, but if you can see the stones in person, it''s a biiiig bonus.

Gemological Trading Corp in Seattle.

They are fantastic. I was planning to buy my diamond and setting from another vendor we had developed rapport with and, therefore, was quite resistant to try anywhere else. My bf found Gemological Trading Corp and being fully aware that I would be critical, was up to the task of supporting his decision. They are really great customer service wise and really know their stuff. I would recommend them hands down. They found me my perfect diamond and were able to sell my setting for much less than had been offered at other vendors. It''s just a quality establishment.

They are located in the Joshua Green Building downtown and you typically have to make an appointment.

I can''t recommend them enough.

Good luck with your search. I hope you find something perfect for you!

I am planning to go online for the stone, and get my setting through Green Lake Jewelry Works. From the couple of emails I''ve exchanged with them, they seem super helpful. A couple of other PSers have worked with them also (machick and pauly1). Good prices, great service (so far!

) I think they stock more artsy fartsy stuff, but they''re gonna make me a pave halo ring!
