Ok, here is another batch of photos of some of my stones. As usual, the pictures are terrible. Enjoy!

First up: the kyanite in my tag line. It is from Brad, The Gem Trader. I love his unusual inventory.

Kyanite: 3.29cts
Oval Cab
Dark blue

The vendor photo is lighter than what I see.

Oooo, what a purty blue! I do love Brad''s monthly offerings, always some unique treasures!

And my own photo - which is too dark and inky. The stone is somewhere between my photo and Brad''s. It is a dark blue, but not so nearly black as my photo shows.

And another one of my photos. It is again too dark.

I love interesting inclusions. This one is a purple fluorite crystal inside clear quartz.

Quartz with fluorite crystal
5cts
Buff top, 10mm by 9.3mm

Handshot (please ignore the filthy hands - I had spent the morning at the polishing machine and it is hard to get compund out of skin and nails). I can''t quite figure out how to set this stone, but I love it!

I bought this stone more as a curiosity, but I was stunned by how gorgeous it is! The cutting is truly fine, even if the colour is very pale.

Natural blue topaz (no treatment)
4.65 cts
Emerald shape with brilliant pavillion

Handshot!

Try as I might, I couldn''t get a single photo of the last stone I wanted to share with you all, so I will just post the vendor photo (again, it is one of Brad''s).

This is pink fire quartz - or quartz with covallite inclusions. This stone may seem rather dull in diffused light, just some clear quartz with a few tiny specks in it. But when a ray of light hits it, the covallite will shine a very brigh, shocking pink. So, as the stone moves, you see flashes of pink running through it - hence the name "pink fire". It is really impressive - much more striking than the schiller in sunstone, for example.

This material was found in a small strike in Brazil. So far, I have managed to get 2 pieces of it: a larger oval cab and this small stone. I will keep trying to take a decent picture of this effect, but I must wait for the next sunny day.

I like the COOL BLUE, love cabs these days...

Please don’t remind me about being to slow to get that kyanite cab.

You sure have lots of interesting stuff that are nice too. By the way, what’s your stackers?

Thank you for the nice words, Chrono, chictomato, ma re, freke, blithesome and tntyau.

Arcadian - I am going to be ungraceful and not thank you, just because you drove up the price on the quartz

Chrono - the stackers aren''t looking their best (dirty and rather out of focus). They are a small Brazilian Paraiba and an irregular pink tourmaline with a braided and a flat twisted banded. I sometimes rotate with a small pearl, an OMC diamond or an iolite. There are a few alternate bands as well: fat twisted, a twisted square band, an hematite band and a few plain square bands. I have a lot of fun mixing them up!

Fun, fun stones. Jewelry should be fun, and so great to see that you are enjoying your pieces. Yes, that kyanite cab went pretty fast. Such a pretty blue.
