You mean those temporary minimal construction jobs to build it?
Approximate 3,900 construction jobs. Those are not permanent. That's 3,900 people employed for one year (so if it takes two years, that's actually only 1,950 people who would be employed).
Yes, there may be the sustaining of additional positions due to purchased supplies, but they would be just as sustained with a more environmentally-friendly infrastructure project. Those are, in fact, part of the President's plans.
Or were you talking about the 35 permanent and 15 temporary contractors it will take to run the pipeline after it's built?

Now most of the oil is brought down by pipeline to Indiana and turned into gasoline.
When the pipeline is in place it will be placed in tankers and sold overseas.
It is better for the US consumer to have it turned into gas here keeping the price per gallon down.
It actually benefits Canada more than the US.
It will still be transported by train to the pickup points for the pipeline so there is really no gain there.
