Wedding Key West Wedding Planner Advice

I''ve searched the recent threads and didn''t find anything specific about this topic. If there is another thread and you can point me to it, that would be great.

We are getting married in the Lower Keys in May 2009. We''ve been going to Big Pine Key (MM 36.5) every year for 6 years. We want to get married there or in Key West. We''re thinking of using one of the all inclusive wedding planners. I''ve already been to most of the websites, just looking for a personal recommendation.

It will be a very small beach wedding, 5-10 people total, but we still want a nice wedding with flowers, cake and some decorations. If anyone has used someone there I would love to hear your thoughts. I''ve also considered the resorts but that''s a little more than we want to spend.

I''m getting married in April of ''09 in the Keys, and this is who I hired. They are doing a very small (just the two of us) beach wedding with flowers for us. We didn''t ask for a cake but I''m sure she could recommend one for you. Colleen is awesome to work with, and I found her to be VERY reasonable in price compared to others. Her husband is the photographer, and they provide a CD of all the photos. Just a suggestion...although my FI and I were looking for VERY simple. Best of luck to you!

Thank you so much! They are actually one of the planners I am considering so it is great to have a personal recommendation. We too are having a very small, simple wedding. I must say that I was very impressed with Gary G's photos. I think he takes very creative pictures based on what they have posted on the site. Nice to know its Colleen's hubby. I love the picture of the couple in the shadow of the palm tree. (Image 32 under weddings on his site http://www.yourweddingaway.com/weddings/index.html) I want a picture just like that one.

I will be giving them a call.

I''m useless when it comes to recommendations, but have you tried the local theknot and yelp? that might be helpful

I had never heard of yelp before. I tried the knot but haven''t had tremendous luck. Thanks.

You''re more than welcome. Actually Gary and Colleen are doing our whole wedding for us. We are getting married right on Smather''s Beach (just us two), then Gary will take some photos for us. After that Colleen has made us a dinner reservaton for us that night. That''s it!! Simple just the way we want. The rest of the week we''ll be staying in Key West for our honeymoon.

We didn''t do a wedding planner, but instead went with a small resort that has wedding packages. We''re getting married at Key West Casa Morada next week, and chose a package that includes officiant, photographer, flower, cake, etc and will be staying there a week after the wedding. It''s going to be just me and my FI so our main goal was to have a wonderful experience without the stress and so far Casa Morada provided just that

I decided on a package with Weddings to Go. www.weddingstogokeywest.com We too are getting married at Smathers Beach at Sunset on May 8th. We got a package with officiant, flowers, pictures, etc. and added a cake. I reserved it today. So excited!!
