Wedding Just WOW!

I was at the most amazing wedding tonight...the reception was in downtown Houston at the Ballpark at Union Station at Minute Maid Park with probably 600 or so guests. It was just WOW! I''m an old married lady (almost 21 years!) and I know things have changed, but WOW! I was just blown away. What a wonderful venue for a reeption. They were setting up for the Madonna concert tomorrow, so in addition to the reception, people were out in the stadium watching the road crew create the stage and lighting for the concert.

Most of my friends have been married for a while, and their children haven''t started getting married yet, so I''ve been in a bit of a wedding drought the last few years. I was just amazed tonight...what an awesome event!

glad you had such a good time! you bring up an interesting point--weddings HAVE changed a lot, and i know the parents of a lot of my friends were pretty sticker shocked. i remember being super-excited about how great our photographer''s package prices were, and my mother said, "you''re paying way too much. when your father and i got married, we used so-and-so, and our whole package was only $450 for the exact same stuff you''re getting." i had to gently break it to her that her former photographer was still in business and still offered the same package...for almost $6000. my best friend had a similar moment with her mom because, in her mother''s day, only rich people served a full dinner, and everyone else just served cheese trays and the like, so she was surprised to learn that having dinner at a wedding was pretty common now. you must post details of this wedding--we''re all highly curious!
