You've probably seen this before. My jaw dropped and I fell in love.

Too bad DF didn't share the reaction. He thought I was kidding when I said I wanted to get this for him as his wedding band.

I know, I know... it doesn't matter what WE think... it matters what he things... but what's wrong with a man wearing diamonds?

For your entertainment here was is our conversation regarding the ring.

Him: "It's got diamonds."

Me: "There's nothing wrong with that."

Him: "It's girly."

Me: "Diamonds are girly? Your dad had a diamond in his wedding band."

Him: "So?"

Me: "They're asschers. They match my asscher. It's the closest to matching rings as we can get."

Him: "You are so high."

Gosh Gypsy, I mean seriously, that ring SMACKS of femininity.

LOL.

My DH actually wanted diamonds in his band. He was all, "You got some, so you need to get ME some."

I''ve seen this men''s ring before and love it. I just asked my DH what he thought. He said he doesn''t like it because "it has diamonds." Hmmmm . . . .

HAHA!

But honestly, I don''t really care for a bunch of diamonds in a men''s band either--I know, I know sacrilege! I''ve seen those bands with one small burnish set diamond and they look great. Maybe he''ll go for one diamond?

It''s the "you are so high" comment that kills me. I would get a similar reply from my bf, although I was thinking about this JUST TODAY (again, get off my brain Gypsy!)....about a hidden/surprise stone on the inside or the edge of his band. Who just did this--was it Laurenthepartier? Someone who has an asscher e-ring wanted to do a surprise mini asscher for her DH and it was too difficult--they did a mini princess instead.

Hmmm. Can''t remember.

And even something like THAT might be odd to my bf. My dad wears a plan YG band that is basically fused to his finger--couldn''t come off if he wanted it to, and his dad doesn''t even wear a w-band-very old school gold family crest cignet pinky ring. (not my thing) instead.

Dumb boy indeed.

It's a very masculine ring, right FG? I thought he would like some diamonds too.

Liz, seriously... why are diamonds bad for men? It's just silly. Maybe it's something about men that other men understand. Like if one of them has a diamond ring the rest of them look at him funny? What do I know?

Leila (my name is Layla..lol) no one won't work either knew that right away... and honestly I like this one because it doesn't really 'showcase' a diamond... it uses them as part of a repeating pattern-- which I thought would be more masculine than a man's solitare.

Men!

ETA: Blue... lmao. That's the comment that kills me too, looks like we need to get off each other's brains. I thought about the surprise diamond... might see about getting it done... but then again, if it's not going to be an asscher, I'm not interested. Will still check though. He'd think that was odd.... and stubborn of me.

My step dad wears a white and yellow gold band... but his dad had one plain band and another with a diamond in it. We still have it I think. Wonder if instead of an asscher I could do his dad's diamond as the surprise stone. THAT might work.

ETA (again)... signet ring thing isn't my thing either.

Absolutely out of it, your DF...

I showed the ring to my hubby and he thought it was great He''s definitely not a big fan of flashy diamond rings for men, but this is so gorgeous and very appropriate. I don''t think I''ve ever seen a man''s w-ring with asschers before and I love it.

If he''s uncomfortable with it, no problem; buy him what he wants to wear and use the $$ you save for the halo around your asscher.

Oh my asscher will be reset by then. We aren''t getting married until the end of June, next year. I have about 9 month to talk him into this puppy. Glad your hubby liked it. Sounds like he has an open mind. DF can''t see the ring for the diamonds.

Storm... you love asschers, and you have a diamond in your band to be, right?

Hi Gypsy ~
face23.gif

I think the ring you posted is an awesome man''s ring!
emlove.gif

I am pretty darn feminine
12.gif
... and I don''t see anything "GIRLY" about it!

Now maybe if the ring had add''l micro pave where the creases are that seperate the blocks ... and possibly on each side all the way around like eternity style.
9.gif

Definately a man''s ring ... and it looks very distinguished!

Good luck!

There was a girl on here recently that had a similar ring made for her DH. And he loved it. It was made to match her assher. And it is killing me that I can''t remember who just had the surprise in her hubby''s or fiance''s band done. Grarh! But I love that ring. But I am sure my K would see it as equivalent to wearing pink boxers - not in his life time dead or alive!

LOL, my DH said the same thing when I showed him Gypsy''s pic above. He''s from the man camp that says diamonds in ANYTHING worn by a man signifies unmanliness. He (and pretty much all his friends) are plain platinum band type guys.

And perhaps when it is time to purchase, get that band and a plain band and let him see them. They will look totally different and smaller in real scale...maybe not as blingy as he is thinking. When presented with the two types to choose from, perhaps he''ll view it differently...

I love that mens wedding band. It''s a perfect blend of diamond bling and masculinity. Understated and strong. The fact that it will match your wedding ring is "icing on the cake"! Good luck on getting him to agree.

I wanted (and am still trying 10 years later) to talk my husband into a wedding band with diamonds. Every time we go into a jewelry store I ask him "how about this one?" and he always says "no diamonds". He''s had a plain wedding band for 10 years. I''m trying to get him to look at some two tone designs or tungsten or different finishes, but it''s always the same answer. "Nope, I like the one I have just fine!". I should probably just let it be, but I''ll continue to look and ask and maybe one day he''ll say "Yeah, I like that one!"

I hope you have better luck with your Fiancee!

I love it and I don''t think it''s at all feminine.

I remember loving the wedding band my real estate agent wore. It was a simple gold band with several channel set diamonds in the middle, but it was a big bulky band, not a feminine band, and the diamonds didn''t go all the way around. It was very classy, not at all "hey yo, yo hey". The catch is that my RE agent was a gay man, and though he had impeccable taste, I doubt I could convince my BF that having diamonds in his wedding band is ok because our RE Agent had one. He would roll his eyes and say "But he was gay!"

LOL at all the commentary... I'm enjoying reading this post!

FI has a wedding band picked out at our jeweler in DE... he picked it out in about 10 minutes (men!), it's a gold (tried to talk him into platinum... 'nope.' he said, 'rather spend the extra $$ on you.') greek key design (I talked him into it as opposed to a plain band) band. I like it... but I LOVE this one.

Suzy-- my DF is the same breed as your husband. It's probably wishful thinking on my part.

Waller-- wishful thinking-- but it won't stop me from ordering both from him (as long as there is a decend return policy on the ring) and showing him them side by side IRL.

Sumbride... see my fiance has no problem with gay men, at all. BUT he has this... serious aversion to the 'metrosexual' phenomenon. Diamonds, for him, are a metrosexual thing. Funny thing is one of our freind's BF's in like the poster child for 'metrosexual' actor... wears makeup even for everyday... and FI likes him a person, but just can't handle the makeup.

Hey Gypsy-- I don''t blame him on the makeup... that takes time to get used to! My BF really liked working with our agent, but I don''t think he''ll take any fashion tips from him. Of course, my BF has SOME metro tendencies... eyebrow waxing, expensive haircuts, and pedicures (no polish though!)... but he doesn''t like me to tell anybody that! so SHhHH!!!!!

THANKS Wallermama--that was driving me (and ilovesparkles too, I guess!!) CRAZY!

Here''s LizzieC''s DH''s w-band w/ surprise diamond inside:

"Yep! He''s got a diamond! A princess suprise diamond! I told him I would sneak one in somehow! We wanted an asscher at first, but they''re cut too deep, so we settled with a princess. It''s very very pretty! " --LizzieC

Blue! Someone always comes through.
2.gif
Gonna see if I can find his dad's ring and see about the surprise diamond.

Sumbride-- I have chase FI around the house with tweezers for the eyebrows. He went with me once when I got waxed. Called it barbaric and walked out.

He desperately wants a manicure. AND a pedicure (no polish). Can't do it. Been with me to the salon twice. Chicken's out each time.

Haircut??? What's that. FI has a shaved head-- and his own clippers.

Diamonds? ROFLMAO
