ok I just purchased a LEO diamond ring today for $4100, which they gave me a deal from $6500. I wanted to know if I got a good deal or should I take it back and look around some more. ok here are the stats :

description of article: one 14 karat white gold mounting (ring) weighing in total approx. 4.7 DWT., containing 5 natural diamonds: four natural diamonds, est. total 0.73 carat, color: near colorless (g-h), clarity: SI(1)/SI(2), one natural diamond, detailed description below:

measurements: 5.00 x 4.96 x 3.57 mm.

weight: 0.75 carat

polish: good

symmetry: good

clarity grade: vs(1)

color grade: colorless (f)
fluorescence: none

*thoughts comments and ideas needed, i mean if you think i should return the ring let me know. cuz i mean i could use some advice, also if you know of any places to shop for a better ring for around the same price let me know. thanks again!!

BLEH. return it. a .45, F VS1 AGS Ideal cut won't cost you more than 1500.

sorry. you got ripped off...

Those Leo''s demand a brand-name premium that''s probably not worth paying for since you can get the same or better quality from some of the less commercial branded stones (and non-branded stones) from PS vendors.

alopez,

is the weight of the center stone .75 carats or the whole ring including the setting?

if the center is .75 and the diameter is 5.00 x 4.96 the diamond is cut deep which means it''s going to look smaller than it should. the stone Julie linked you to for example is cheaper but has a spread of 5.75 which means it will actually look bigger and is less $. I agree with Julie, I''d return it and start learning about Cut which is the most inportant "C". you can find a much better deal working with on of the Pricescope vendors..

agree, that stone has the same L/W dimensions as a .5 ct stone.

This is a nice stone.

sorry i forgot to add that its a princess cut

yea just the center diamond is 0.75 carat.

Well, that changes everything.

Keep it if you like it. A little expensive, though.

Ok, I take the expensive back. For a branded cut, the diamonds I'm getting on the PS search are about 3000, so with a diamond setting, that'd be an alright price.

so i didnt get raped then? :) and its a pretty good deal ur telling me right? cuz i mean if not then im takin that shit right back. cuz ive been searching through your forums and ive noticed that everyone here is very helpful and informative and im glad i found this site to help my purchase. thanks again everyone!
