Just got Studs

My hubby just surprised me with 3 carat studs for our first year anniversary. They are F Ideal VS1. I would like to go bigger. What is the lowest color I can go and clarity too???

Wow congratulations! Those studs sound plenty big to me. My 2.5 ctw. studs are H SI2 ideal cut and they look perfect to me. I would even consider going down to J in color as long as the stones are well cut. Please post pictures for us of whatever you decide to get.

Oh, my! What a dream...ideal cut F, VS1, 1.5 cts in each ear?

Wow, I wouldn''t change a THING! But if I did and I was in that price range, I''d only go down to G, VS2 to gain a little size. I think color and inclusions are more noticable the larger the diamonds are, personally. (Mine are 1.5 cts. total, and H VS2, which is my lower limit in reality! I do plan to replace them with ideal cut soon, though.)

I think they must be awesome. I would think 1.5ct each is plenty big, unless you have big ole Dumbo ears But seriously, I would think an eye clean SI1 at I color wouldn''t detract any from the bling. Just please make sure they are AGS ideal or GIA EX.
DON''T SKIMP ON THE CUT!!!!!!

You could go down to VS2 or SI1 clarity easily to gain some size, even SI2 if you can find an eyeclean pair. Or down to G color. You could go much lower in color as well - earrings are not compared so closely or viewed as closely as rings. It depends on your personal preference.

You''re kidding right?? Most gals don''t get stones that big on their fingers much less having Ideal F VS1''s at 1.5 carat per ear
