I just picked up the three diamonds I dropped off at GIA on 12/13. To my surprise, when I called them on 12/19, my stones had already been graded and ready for pick up
Since I was very busy preparing for the trip, I was not able to go down to the Midtown West area before leaving the country. I just came back earlier this week and finally picked the stones up.
Although I was aware that one of the stones was more tinted than the other two, I was shocked to see that the tinted one was graded as K/VS2
The other two were both graded as F/SI1. I was expecting the K to come back as an I or better
Now I don't know what to do with those stones. The F/SI1s are a great match. I've dreamt of making an OEC three stone ring, but I don't know if I'll ever find a 2ct OEC in high color like the pair I have right now. I could put the K in a pendant, but I'm not really loving the shape. It looks more like a chubby oval and pillowy. Maybe I should use one of the matched pair for a pendant, but I feel bad breaking an almost perfectly matched pair.
What would you do? I was originally looking for a pendant stone, but made an impulsive buy on eBay. I don't regret the purchase, but I don't know what to do with the stones.
