hi Everyone,

I just came back from a trip to Scandinavia. I thought I would share some pics just for fun! I took this first picture from the window of a jewelry store called Halberstadt in Copenhagen (Denmark). The "toy" train is made out of 24 k gold, and it's carrying real diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, and rubies!

These next pics were taken from Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen. The castle was a summerhouse built in 1606 by Christian IV. These were the Queen's jewels. Sorry the pic quality isn't great - we had to sneak taking these pics inside the museum. The lighting was terrible in the museum as well (hence the yellow tint in the pics). These diamonds were gorgeous in real life!

Diamonds and emeralds galore!

And a diamond and gemstone encrusted crown for the King of Denmark!! I can't believe these jewels were made in the 1600's! All the diamonds and gemstones had to be cut by hand!

My hubby is from Denmark so we travel there a lot. The jewels in the shop windows in Copenhagen are great. The pedestrain shopping area has some great eye candy for sure. And the crown jewels are fabulous too! Glad that you had a good time!

Wow, I love your photos! They are so fun! As I was looking at them, I told my husband that we need to take a vacation where we go and see all the crown jewels all over the world!
He gave me the pity laugh! He doesn''t really think I am serious!

Thanks for taking and sharing them! Your pics are wonderful, interesting and fun!

Wow, that train is so cool! I love looking at really old antique jewelery... So cool to see how cutting and designing has changed, and it''s amazing to see how accurate jewelers used to be doing everything by hand!!

Thanks for the fun eye candy - love the little bling train!

Beautiful!!! Thank you for sharing.

This cracks me up - I was in Copenhagen yesterday, admiring the exact same train! But I didn''t make it out to the museum: thanks for giving me the chance to live vicariously. Now I know what the top priority will be, next time ....
