I wanted to first thank you all for the great info i got over here. Although i have a "friend" in the business, it was great to not have to go into this blind. Wandering around 47th street in midtown is a little scary when you don't know what to look for. She was very impressed and refered to me as a gemologist twice

Here's what i got:

1.2 ct
color G
clarity VS2
Depth 61.9
Table 55%
g- thin to med faceted
c-none
P- Very Good
S-Very Good
Fl- None

Setting:
Platinum with .23tw baguettes.

It's being set now, and i can take actual pictures next week.

Price: 5050 for the stone and 850 for the setting and mounting.

So how'd i do? I did some searches and it looks like i did ok My connection works at GIA, so i figured i could put my faith in her judgment.

Do you think i could have beat that price on my own? How good of a dinner do i owe her

If you're happy with the stone and the price you paid, that's really all that matters. Enjoy.

The price for the stone sounds good but $850 for a setting with briquettes???
